Haha, great idea ms.
By:
not high enough to get m pipe or corl and unlikely for county - few more pounds could get him in county, needs at least 5 i'd say for mp and possibly more for crl cup - so needs to run and at least place for county and win well for crl - for those interested he is now on here for county - me thinks mr s didnt want him lurking off bottom weight in county (a 133 might just have been enough) and is forcing to run again so he can reassess him if necessary.
By:
MS Townshend has to run 3 times over hurdles to qualify to run in any of the Cheltenham handicaps, so only having had two runs WPM has no choice but to run again.
By:
not my point slower
By:
should have made myself clearer hancippper has made it so he has to win
By:
had i known you were listening slower i would have been forensically precise
By:
May not be but it's still a fact
the last few years you need to be 135ish for the County, 138 CC, 133 MP the year Don Poli won. But the fact is without a 3rd run over hurdles regardless of his current mark he will not qualify to run in any handicap hurdle at Cheltenham, that's my point ms. |
By:
So let me be clearer for you ms, say Mr Smith had said WPM Townshend is rated 139. We agree this mark would have enabled him to run in any race? But the thing stopping him from actually being allowed to compete is he has only ran twice over hurdles, to run in any Cheltenham handicap hurdle you have to have ran 3 times over hurdles regardless of you mark.
By:
Hope that's cleared up any confusion.
By:
yes i know omg that is not my point - my point is that he has ensured that he has another opportunity to reassess him - rather than him being able to run mid field in his 3rd run - and last year the mp was 135 and county 134 2014 county was 133 and 2013 was 132 - i am trying to be really patient with you but you are coming across like a stalker
By:
A stalker
![]() ![]() I'm fed up of having to correct you ms![]() |
By:
Boys boys, you're both making the same point.
I'm not sure about the County for this lad, as I think further might be better. But if he does pitch up in a cap off less than 140, he may well be the gamble of the week. |
By:
MS Townshend has to run 3 times over hurdles to qualify to run in any of the Cheltenham handicaps, so only having had two runs WPM has no choice but to run again.
Aux Ptits Soins won the Coral Cup last year with only 2 runs over hurdles. Horses don't need 3 runs to get a mark, they can run 2 times and if they are placed in both or win one they qualify. Townshend got his mark based off of that. GL |
By:
Desmond all I am trying to say regardless of what mark Townshend has been given he needs to have ran three times over hurdles to run because it's above a certain class race. So in effect Mr Smith knows he has to run again, that's all

By:
Stand corrected apologies, by the way I hate you maelduin
![]() |
By:
No biggie as it is an easy mistake to make. The rules constantly refer to the 3 times run but there are always exceptions.
Now please stop stalking MS. ![]() |
By:
maelduin as you proved me wrong and you seem to know your stuff
Townshend was entered in a handicap the other Saturday at Cheltenham that was won by Solstice Star but Phil Smith wouldn't give him a mark? |
By:
I will do maelduin, I made the mistake of thinking it was a public forum
but I'm fine with standing corrected. |
By:
your corrections are pedantic and trivial imo and a poorly disquised legacy of your dislike for my posts when you first emerged (or first time i remember you emerging) when others were getting fed up with you (or are you going to say thats not a fact either as i can happily point you to their comments) - now with regards to facts - if you want to correct me i suggest you do it factually i said 133 could get him in the county the average of the last 3 countys is 133 fact not 135 ish.
I have met many people that prefer to critique others rather than put up their own original thought to be critiqued its certainly a lot safer space to play in as i believe it is a lot easier to destroy than it is to create - there are many on here that have my admiration because they regularly put there neck on the block. i have also met many people that avoid the tougher questions they are asked or the ones that would require them to admiit perhaps they were wrong and respond with a deflection. I dont claim to be the most knowledgeable poster, and i am sure many out there dont rate my posts but i enjoy interesting debate. |

By:
I know some stuff but still post the odd howler like everyone.
![]() I didn't see the entry so not sure. Was he still declared when they released the weights? If yes then that would be odd. Maybe he was still being assessed. ![]() |

mael - if you are interested (which i doubt very much) - take a look at his posts and see how often they are a response to the sh*t i post

Speaking as the unofficial referee.
Milton, John's views are often delivered in a slightly more robust fashion than many would like, but on the whole, he's not a bad sort. He seems to have valuable insight on most of the threads he comments on and I think we all appreciate the need for a little more traffic through here. And as shown above, he can readily admit when he is wrong, so that charge can't be levelled against him. John, stop being pedantic, it was a minor point, you knew what you were doing - consider wrist slapped. |
By:
Get over yourself ms, I'll try not to post on any thread your on, as for the others being fed up with me, boo hoo. I've been proved to be wrong on this thread and gladly hold my hands up, not a problem with maelduin picking on me
Pedantic and trivial??? Like running a gelding in a mares only race or RW falling off Boston Bob in the sun alliance??? It seems you are ulterior sensitive ms, so don't worry my stalking of you ![]() is finished no need for a restraining order. |

So Desmond

Sorry Desmond I mean

MS - I never advocate using the "block user" feature but in this case it might be better for both of you. With so many different personalities you'll always have some friction. Plus we all have enough stresses in life without letting it get into our pastime as well.
Speaking of friction you'll know that i spent my morning yesterday trying to make the forum a better place and all i got was a kick in the nuts. A poster even had the audacity to say the spoofer was brave. ![]() |
By:
DO - yes i am sure everything you say is correct - i guess my imagination must be running riot with me - so slower i apologise to you.
By:
mael - no need - the pattern will either stop now or everybody else will see it because its out there now - either way i am ok with that
By:
DO - yes i am sure everything you say is correct
Nobody ever accused me of that before, Milton! I just prefer it when everyone plays nice. |
By:
No problem ms, I correct anyone if they are wrong and stand corrected when I am wrong which that horrible person maelduin did pesky maelduin.
I can honestly say ms I have nothing whatsoever against you and I apologise for making you feel that way. I like ante post and Cheltenham threads on here as there is some great debate but just because I disagree with you or anyone else or correct anyone or anyone corrects me, its not victimisation. If we all agreed it would be boring, a few people have made a few snarky remarks about me but hey you give it you have to take it. So all in all ms I'm not stalking you and lets just get over me being wrong and lets not mention that fact again![]() |
By:
DO - trust me i am trying

came back from being out all day saw 59 new posts on the handicap plots thought something dramatic had happened and glad to see that no-one had cut and pasted a half a dozen of the other threads
