Interesting run from Arbre de Vie today....

Maybe the CHAPS Novice race is the plan? Is RR trying to win every race on Tuesday?!

Yes I agree very interesting run........ Think ruby still would of won if he got him closer a bit earlier even after that dreadful mistake! Not sure how he gets in that race though CCM don't know how many times you have to run to get handicapped but surely he was rated over 140 for hurdles so suspect he will be too highly rated?

Exactly barnesy. Never seemed to want to have him close enough... And totally agree he should have won in spite of the mistake.

Don't think they would have too many issues getting another couple of quiet runs into him if required, and his hurdle rating might not stop them achieving a mark in the mid 130's over fences which should be just the job.

149 is his hurdles mark and I think that's his Irish mark? so if it is probably higher over here.

Maybe wrong be can't see him getting a mark in the 130s

I thought his hurdles mark was 144?

If it's 149 John, then agree. No chance.

He was but he finished 2nd to Sort It Out at Punchestown and was put up 5.

Watch Johns Spirit like a hawk tomorrow (Cheltenham, 2.25) !

I think King's Odyssee could also be getting a sighter of Cheltenham tomorrow with an eye on the 0-140 novice handicap.

I thought the ride on gardefort yesterday was playing to the cameras a bit. Think it could have been much closer and they were looking after that 141. Crept into the novice handicap in 2014 before a mistake 4 out and then last season won at Plumpton before seemingly getting injured so could suggest they were going back for a cheltenham handicap.

This won well in january on the day Coleman swerved warwick and hoblon des obeaux in the betfred chase to go to wetherby instead, likely for this so it could be handy.

a "plot horse" who finished last beaten 30l lto hardly inspires confidence but i will put up BOUVREUIL for the novice h'cap chase.

bit of a quirky character never got in to the race at doncaster on saturday(quality field) but time before won quite well beating hendersons vyta du roc over 19f.

runner up in last years fred winter proved at least he can run well in a big festival h'cap and run of 139 on saturday so hopefully might drop a couple of pounds.

hopefully the nicholls yard is in better form come cheltenham and noel fehily on board if bouvreuil turns up for the h'cap(entered in arkle)(no chance)).

Not dark horses but I thought un temps pour tout was an eye catcher running on up the hill under top weight, then Richie mcclernon was riding lost legend like he had never been on a horse before, was going in zig zags for the last 7 furlongs, and johns spirit wasn't trying either.

maybe johns spirit for the 2m5f hacap? has dropped in weights bigtime.having said that he was only able to finish4th in the same race two yeras ago.

Frodon was of interest in the 2m handicap hurdle finale at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Good form on soft ground in graded races in France, he travelled well until blowing up at the bottom of the hill and looked as though he'd come on for that run

Regarding Johns Spirit surely he'll be dropped a few pounds from 148 for Saturdays run and will make him well in. The slight negative is his best performances have been Oct,Nov? But at 25s definitely worth chancing.

Rezorbi, the new Jonjo recruit from France was travelling nicely until he tipped up in the novice handicap chase - the fall would n't be part of the plan nor ideal preparation obviously.

John's Spirit prefers the old course whereas the Plate is run on the new course

I was thinking same but wondered if they might consider stepping him up in trip for 3m 1f handicap on Day One.

He didn't run too badly on the New course in last seasons Ryanair.

fixe le kap fred winter.  i know its 2nd fav for truimph, but its only been raised to 139 for beating 123 rated mystery code 35 lenghts at warwick last week. risky

Have a look at Germany Calling's record when fresh and on good ground - and then bear in mind he's been rested since mid-November.

Connections see him as a 3m chaser so could be unexposed for the 3m Handicap Chase on the Tuesday, with only Longsdon's so-so record at Cheltenham a negative.

Johns Spirit now down to 145. 25's now gone with bet everydayoftheweek. Got to have a good chance assuming they go for the 2.5M handicap

Entered at Gowran as well isn't he? Was only looking at him earlier today. Impossible to guess what handicap they will aim him at though isn't it. Martin Pipe or Coral Cup maybe?
By:

When: 09 Feb 16 20:23
He doesn't have one yet as far as I'm aware and this is the second time WPM has entered Townshend in a handicap over here so he seems very keen to  know what the handicapper would make of him - clearly eyeing up a Festival handicap imo.

Townshend needs to run over hurdles again to qualify for a handicap at Cheltenham. Very interesting imo.

Definitely did have an entry at Gowran for Sat joist, so maybe they've decided Plumpton works better. I will be backing him wherever he goes at the festival. Just wish we could get a price before he runs!

Townshend 130 in Britain, a Irish hurdler lower in Britain than Ireland a rarity.

someone needs to invent an alert like horse tracker that sends an email as soon as a horse is priced up in a market Laugh
