Very good performance from Long Dog there in what looked the best renewal of the Future Champions for a long time. Reckon that's up there with the best piece of novice hurdle form this year for me.
On that display he looks a Supreme horse rather than Neptune to me. Could muddy the waters with Min. If the latter wins well over 2m4f next time, will be interesting to see what RR does with the pair of them. |

CCM is Min being aimed at a 2m4 race next? I read it was the 2m Moscow Flyer race in January, the one Douvan won.

CCM - RR said on Irish TV today that Long Dog goes up in trip, maybe even straight to Festival. Also said on RUK yesterday that Min goes to the Supreme.

Ricci scared a few I'm sure when he said Min for the Moscow Flyer race then Neptune. Caught himself on after though before correcting he meant Supreme.

I think it's 50/50 supreme or neptune.
I personally think it may be supreme as he took a pull and mainly because Imo petit mouchoir and disko are suited very well to the neptune. Certainly a big decision to be made, id expect another run from all 3 before cheltenham anyway. The Deloite will be very informative. Stonehards form has worked out very well too, even though he took a fall last time, |

Gurteen 14 lengths behind min in his novice hurdle wins the bumper at leopardstown beating the willie mullins and rich ricci antepost champion bumper fav some neck in the process.
A noticeable gamble and a big word was going around for some neck in the last week. Min shortens across the board. |

Anyone heard anything about Forgotten Rules recently?
Still quite prominent in the betting for this despite not having jumped a hurdle in public or even entered into a hurdle race. |

This race is probably the best renewal since 2011 when Sprinter failed to make his mark over hurdles but still got 3rd behind Spirit Son and Al Ferof with Cue Card another length back. In 2012 a bunch of average ones with prob the best in Darlan. In 2013 Fever with MTOY and Jezki, with Dodging Bullets down the field another future Champion Chaser failing over hurdles, it was a good renewal. But then 2 years ago there was only Vautour and Vaniteux as class horses in it, and last year only Douvan, and L'Ami Serge who failed to give his true running. This year looks the hottest of them all, we have Altior, Min, Buveur Dair, Yorkhill/Bellshill, Yanworth and other dark ones like Modus, Penglai P., perhaps Long Dog, it'll be the most interesting puzzle to solve the first day. It looks that way, we'll see what will actually run in it near the time but still pretty exciting at this stage.

I really think Yanworth could be a bit special. Just hope they don't swerve the Supreme just because of Min. Really think he will give him a proper race. Min still got an awful lot to prove.

 I think it's hard to judge the quality of this years until next year when they go into open company, but you could definitely be right, and hopefully some will make it to Champion Hurdle contenders next year. I remember Captain Cee Bee's Supreme when we had three co fav's at 8/1 (Binocular, Muirhead and Pigeon Island) and the next three all at 17/2 (Cee Bee, Cork All Star and Kyber Kim). I would have loved to have been on here then, imagine the insults that gone hurled around then |

There's some pretty useful animals entered in the Neptune Catch,may be just as hard to win that race.
Some real good novices around this season from 2 up to 3 miles. Causing some real thinking to be done with the wagers !! |

MIN came in for strong ante-post support again on Monday for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle, but his performances and shortening price have not scared off Gigginstown House Stud and their star Tombstone. Gigginstown will hood Tombstone for next month's Deloitte Novice Hurdle on the way to a shot at Willie Mullins' crack young hurdler. "I think it's fairly obvious at this stage that we'll take everyone on," said Gigginstown's Eddie O'Leary. "Min was impressive on Saturday, no doubt, but at the moment Tombstone is our intended horse for the Supreme and we'll find our own level with him." Despite already backing him for the supreme at 168.0 to only a £9 stake. Iv gone back in small on TOMBSTONE at 20s. With the target now seeming very likely I think he's a hell of a horse and will compliment the rest of my supreme book. I think he's very special. And massively over priced at 20s

Agree with that Scooby. Was very taken with the acceleration Tombstone showed on his first run this season. Thought he was tailor made for the Neptune so backed him e/w for that. Small covering bet for Supreme at 20s following comments by connections today as my Supreme book all but full.

Iv got £38 on him for the neptune at 110.0 but as iv got a hell of a book for the neptune already and just min at 25/1 altior at 7/1 yorkhill 32.0 and a poss runner in yanworth who i backed 12/1 any race. I'm feeling happy enough he's going supreme. Just topping up

Quite surprised at this myself. Looked a bit outpaced coming off the final bend in the Future Champions, but then stayed on really well. Thought he looked tailor made for the Neptune, especially on better ground than he has ever encountered and most Robin des Champs progeny stay well.
Could see him keeping on for the minor places but would be surprised if he is quick enough to win. |

I can talk through a completely unbiased view financially. Watch the race again and his previous race, he took a fierce pull at the start of the future champions, and he's got some turn of foot on him. the first thing i thought half way through the race is supreme.

Yes put a small bet on Disko a couple months back for the Neptune and just nipped out before to get some 20s Tombstone for Supreme after reading the news. It's not something that has surprised me tbh. Despite the last couple of years, where a WM / RW ridden horse has dictated the pace and quickened to win the Supreme is typically won by a horse that can travel through at championship pace, have stamina and speed in abundance and i think Tombstone has shed loads of each!

Dived in at 20s myself, he was very highly thought of before the season began, just read Elliott's comments before the season. The one benefit in having a hype horse like Min is the value it creates elsewhere. I'd be surprised if Tombstone doesn't shorten a fair bit.

Scooby. Don't get me wrong, I really like the horse. But he almost outstayed Long Dog who looks Neptune bound, as does Petit Mouchoir. Appreciate the difficulty is splitting their runners up though.
But agree that a fast run race should suit him better. Could see him going off less than half the current 20/1 so looks a no brainier. |

The only thing you can be sure of with the Giggy crew is that they will put you away - don't listen to a word they say. You lot are always saying that Paddy knows - check their prices. Thought Wounded Warrior and all that carp they peddled about their RSA/4miler horses would have taught you a lesson last year. Too many 'faces' are on Tombstone for the Neptune.
