Looked sore to me when he trotted off, if he makes Cheltenham you'd not want him onside after the season he has had surely ?,
Only a 7yo so a confidence booster in Ireland then push on with him next season would be my bet, Why rush with one they always thought was a chaser anyway. |
By:
Think he wants better ground.
Ive backed him already mate,so im just hoping he turns up. I think he will if hes ok. |
By:
i was just thinking of the well being of the horse buddeliea he looked sore...i agree with gutfeeling a nice confidence booster if he is ok, then kick on over fences next season
By:
Well of course they have to do whats best for the horse's well being.
Guess they will see how he is over the next week or so. The World Hurdle has been the aim all season. They wont want to change plans at this stage, but if its what the horse needs then fair enough. |
By:
Incidentally, anyone got any views on Ruby chucking BH at the last fence? Did he really need to do that??
By:
They must have thought about changing plans before today Budde. He's hardly set the world alight this season so a reality check would have happened.
By:
Shame he fell - great run til then considering he still looked a bit burly. takes an age to get right but I thought he was coming to win his race.
By:
Be very surprised if they take him to Chelts after that and considering what he's been through.
By:
I think hes just needed better ground Sint.
It was better today and he ran well. Will have to see how he comes out of it,but that wont have helped falling like that. Don't understand why Ruby had to put the gun to his head like that at the last, its not the be all and end all todays race,Especially as the horse has already had one nasty fall. |

If More of that is a non runner the Annie Power will run in this race.
By:
Annie Power will run in the Mares. She will never run in the W.H without a prep run. Mullins always takes the easy races when available to win and this will be no different.
Hopefully she goes novice chasing next year and fulfills her enormous potential. |

Annie Power did you say?

just watched last year's race again and geraghty once again with a masterclass
he was absolutely cantering turning in but as soon as he saw annie on his outside he kicked the horse into overdrive to ensure she didnt get first run race winning decision imo |

By:
thought briar hill would have won if stood up yesterday, at least it ran with a lot more promise, think 25s nrnb is well worth a few quid in what is for me the weakest world hurdle I can remember.
By:
Yeah I felt Briar Hill would have got up or gone close, he's one who will just do enough to win. He shaped with much more promise. But another fall will surely have wrecked his confidence. It took him ages to get over his last one.
By:
Any chance Briar Hill goes Coral Cup? Think 2.5m is his trip.
Appreciate winning off 152 or a bit higher (doesn't UK handicapper normally add a few lbs on?) will be tough, but think he could be a fair bit better than that. |
By:
just had some small change on more of that at 13 on here probably a nonner but conneections havent completly ruled him out and things can change and wont be that big if they can get him there !

Interesting Racing Post podcast if anyone is interested.
https://soundcloud.com/racingpost/cheltenham-postcast-world-hurdle-16-02-15 Monksland gets a very good write up, and Pricewise gives a very favourable mention to Seeyouatmidnight. Zarkandar split them a bit. |

More Of That is "very much odds against" running in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival on March 12, according to regular jockey Tony McCoy.
Jonjo O'Neill's seven-year-old defeated top Irish mare Annie Power in the race last season, when ridden by Barry Geraghty, but was comprehensively beaten upon his return to action at Newbury in November and has not run since. The JP McManus-owned More Of That also bled after exercise last week to leave connections chasing the clock in order to prove his fitness for the Festival. McCoy blogged on www.thejockeyclub.co.uk: "Sadly, More Of That bled in his work last week, which is hugely disappointing. "Whether he gets back in the given time is very much odds against at the moment." The 19-times champion jockey snubbed More Of That in preference for At Fishers Cross in last season's World Hurdle, but he could only finish third. Rebecca Curtis' stayer has struggled this term, with McCoy distinctly nonplussed by his no-show at Haydock last Saturday. He said: "At Fishers Cross ran deplorably bad at Haydock over the weekend - that is the only way of describing it - and he is long way off being a World Hurdle contender at the moment." Paul Nicholls is happy with Zarkandar, who finished fourth last year, and Saphir Du Rheu in what he believes is an open year. "Zarkandar is in really good form," the Ditcheat handler told At The Races. "He won the French Champion Hurdle then ran really well at Ascot. "Saphir won the Cleeve, which is always a good trial, and is an improving horse. It's a very open race. "We've trained Zarkandar particularly just for this race. We haven't run him all year to keep him fresh and he's in good form. "I think both horses have got big chances." |

MORE OF THAT may yet defend his Ladbrokes World Hurdle crown next month, with positive test results giving connections sufficient encouragement to leave making a final decision until as late as possible.
The seven-year-old's participation at the Cheltenham Festival was thrown into serious doubt earlier this month as it emerged he had burst a blood vessel following a piece of work. The timing of the setback left trainer Jonjo O'Neill suggesting the World Hurdle would come too soon, but Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus issued a more upbeat bulletin on Friday. He said:"More Of That's test results came back good today and we are all very happy with the horse at home. "If things continue like they are we think it is only fair to give the horse every chance of getting to Cheltenham to try and follow up his win in last year's World Hurdle. "So as things stand we will understandably be leaving any final decision on the horse's participation until the last possible moment." Last season's length and a half defeat of Annie Power in the World Hurdle left More Of That unbeaten in five career starts, but he lost that record when only third to Medinas on his seasonal reappearance in the bet365 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury in November. Since Newbury More Of That has undergone a wind operation, and is still challenging for World Hurdle favouritism with Saphir Du Rheu and Zarkandar at a best-priced 6-1. |

has anything ever happened like this before in the green and gold ? youd need binoculars to see it

anyone know what the biggest price mot went out to?
By:
Does anyone still fancy him ??
By:
We dont even know if he actually bled.
By:
If I'm honest, I never fancied him before this shenanigans.
By:
Thought they said he did..........ah,think I get it!!
Stuff all that, horse been rubbish on the track this season, and not been seen since,i just cannot be backing a horse on that. If the stables up to something,so be it. Think I would rather miss a winner to be honest. |
By:
I'm with you Budd. Can't have him. Was at Newbury and the vibes around were bad. He drifted and never really looked like winning. Somebody was matched at 80 though for £6 so they'll be hoping.
By:
he has had a breevin operation ,will like the probable ground ,current champ ,has had an easy season , lightly raced should have more improvement has beaten current fav zarkandar in a world hurdle, decent price now and with a trainer who has a decent festival record ................
By:
and I guarantee he will be a different horse to the one that ran so badly at newbury
By:
I cant have him either, tongue tied on his seasonal debut for some unknown reason and then beaten miles by a handicapper.
By:
Good luck Foyles.
The day I back horses with a season hes had at 5 or 6/1,is the day I take a good look at myself!! Respect each to their own though. |
