Tried to get the 14 nrnb but changed to 8 after deposited the money. Would rather have had that than the 16 antepost, but not taking 8's nrnb when double the odds are available.
Looks a top quality lineup this year. |

By:
be careful though not yet confirmed runner.

By:
Yeah mate, that's why I was after the 14's NRNB. Worth the risk though, as 16's too big a price to turn down.
Activial won the Adonis and missed the Triumph last year. Really hope Beltor turns up - I think he will but only put a small bet on him, wouldn't be the end of the world if they skipped it - I'd still be happy with Hargam and Top Notch. |

"It's massive for us in our second season training to come to meetings like this and win Grade 2s.
"It's realistic to dream about Cheltenham and the nice gallop there will help him settle." Winning rider Tom O'Brien added: "I can't wait until they go faster for him. He's done that very easily and is a credit to Robert and his wife Rosie - brilliant. "I think better ground will help him as they'll go faster and he'll be able to settle. He's earned a crack at the Triumph and I'm really looking forward to Cheltenham." Beltor - owned by Alison Mossop - returned at 3-1 and will be seeking to emulate Zarkandar, Soldatino and Penzance, who have completed the Adonis-Triumph double in the last ten years. |

From what I understand deffo going, had a small bet at 50/1 for Triumph before the race today

By:
Very nice performance. In an ordinary year I'd imagine peole would be climbing over each other to get on for the Triumph but this one just adds greater depth to what looks to me like an already extraordinarily good looking crop of British four year olds. This could be the race of the meeting.

Starchitect ran into a nice 4th place finish in the Fred Winter yesterday afternoon.
By:
that means, it's a 2 horse race, Peace & Co and Hargam. cheers.
By:
really? All Yours 5th in Fred Winter just behind Starchitect giving him 4lbs.
That franks Beltor's Adonis win at least equally as well - though I accept Beltor has more questions to answer acting on the track and stamina. |
By:
Be interesting if BG waits in behind or takes him to the front early. I reckon the latter despite what they tried to do LTO

After yesterday hold up tactics don't seem the best way to go about it! But think he had to do what ruby says ride him like the best horse and if he is good enough then he will win but in a field this size I wouldn't want to see him held up in the last 3 I would sit no further back than 6th! Good luck fellow backers this one makes or breaks the week for me!

Likewise, been telling colleagues that this is the one for ages so my credibility is on the line also!
By:
There is no credibility on giving people tips. You could give a person ten winning tips on the run but if the eleventh fails then they will hate you and want to kill you. Due to their complete disregard for betting discipline they will probably gamble away everything they won from the first ten. But do you know what?
It's all your fault! |

Yeah, well done to those who ear marked Peace and Co months ago.
While it wasn't an Our Conor, he beat two serious rivals in Top Notch and Hargam. I'd imagine that Faugheen will have a tough race against those three if they all stay hurdling. Was very happy with Top Notch and Hargam, who a few have said all along that there shouldn't have been such a big gap between them and Peace and Co, but at the end of the day, a winner is a winner, so well done P and Co fans. |
By:
Three very nice sorts. Given his tactical speed and the ground going against him I was surprised to see Hargam ridden so prominently. I also very much liked To Notch's attitude though I think of the three he was the one who most benefited from the rain. I think Peace will be far more suited by the course and slightly lesser distance of a champion but once again it was his ability to travel like a top performer which was noticeable.
By:
Yeah, Peace and Co looks like Faugheen's biggest rival at this stage.
Faugheen probably more likely to stay in Ireland all next year, so with the front 3 in the Triumph competing in the British G1 2m hurdles, next years Champion Hurdle build up will be great. |
By:
Well done CV. Still not convinced that he's the "monster" you claim him to be but he's certainly a good tool and there are plenty of good races to be run with him. It was quite taking the way that the Hendo 3 pulled a mile clear of the rest.

By:
Good one CV. Pleased for you (especially after some of the flak you've fielded on here).

By:
His blog is a mess Pete, not accurate at all.
Great shout with P&C though. |
By:
Cheers all and well done to other backers.
Sint, at least I put effort into a blog. It was a mess at Cheltenham because it's impossible to go to the track, drink, go out and then decide what to post for friends to back when I'm on some horses antepost. Do I tell them to back the same ones I'm on big but are now short etc.. Also, saying my blog is not accurate is calling me a liar, you've been constantly having digs at me for forever. Give it a rest please ffs. As ever, I post screenshots of everything I've bet on. So please pour over them all to the penny and then come back and call me "inaccurate" or what you mean is a liar. If you don't like my blog then don't read it. |
By:
That's a good point and bit me on the bum this Cheltenham CV. It would have been a very profitable Cheltenham for me had I gone with my gut and backed ante post but the ones I liked were in the care of Mullins and so I faced exactly that quandary on the day and couldn't bring myself to back at short odds horses which you could have argued were over bet prior to the races and which were far bigger ante post. Peace And Co dug me out of a hole thankfully.
By:
Yes CV, I mean a liar. Please answer the question about Faugheen which you have avoided..
When you spammed it all over the BF forum I read it but shall no longer. |
By:
At the end of January, when Peace and co was 2/1 and under, I was slagged off by CV Byrne for suggesting I'd get 4/1 on the morning of the race. Well waddayaknow! Just shows how crap the ante-post market is nowadays.
By:
I agree re antepost market. I was straight into PAC after Donny performance but may as well have waited til the morning of the race. The other problem is 2nd guessing which races horses will end up in - Mullins horses, coneygree, etc.. I got lucky this year with a 33-1 bet on faugheen for churdle after Neptune win, but I'm struggling to see any antepost value for next season and doubt I'll place many antepost bets from now on..
By:
33/1 after the Neptune win!!! where did you get that too
![]() |
By:
on the exchange after his neptune win when mullins/connections were suggesting that he was going chasing. I just couldnt believe that. For me it was obvious that Vautour would go chasing given the quality of his jumping (especially compared to Faugheen's jumping).
By:
Well considering Faugheen won a p2p you have some foresight to think the CH was gonna be his number 1 option after his Neptune win.
By:
It was that p2p and his win in a 3m hurdle in a bog that stopped me from betting on him in the neptune! But, given the time he posted in that Neptune and the fact that he bulldozed some of the hurdles, I was convinced he would continue over hurdles and V would go Arkle (though luckily i didnt bet on V for the arkle). I also assumed that Hurricane Fly would either be retired or no longer challenging so team mullins would need a new flag bearer for the churdle.
I should say that the bet was actually 32.5 on the exchange and i bet the grand total of .. £2 on it, but it gave me more ammunition for the rest of the fez! |
By:
what i would like to hear is thoughts on whether PAC could put it up to Faugheen in a CH or whether they might be tempted by the chasing route (5 yr olds have won the arkle)..??
By:
I see Peace and co as a solid champion hurdle horse. He got blocked at an awkward time but Barry was still able to ride him for a turn of foot after the last.
