So the machine is back out today! I guess his run will tell us what BJG will choose for the race. My only concern is unless he's ultra impressive today they might not even run him. They obviously think loads of him but he's clearly one for the future. I hope he runs in the Supreme as I have backed him all year at 30's down to 20's and 14's.

I'm in the same boat Masterminded, the rise of Spirit Son to prominance in the Supreme market has got me seriously worried. Would be gutted if he didn't turn up at the festival, the horse has looked every inch a star.

I haven’t been on SPRINTER SACRE since I won on him at Ffos Las earlier this month but I was mighty impressed by him that day and he is a horse that I like a lot.

I think he’ll be very hard to beat in the two-mile novice hurdle and after that we’ll be a bit nearer sorting out the pecking order for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Festival. I don’t think the final choice is going to be easy but this horse is pretty smart. I don’t see the rain as a problem.

Unless something goes wrong today (and iirc Menorah got beat at odds on in this race last year) I think the decison about the Supreme and jockey booking will be all down to the ground. Spirit Son wants it proper soft imo, and Minella Class would also be likely to run in the Supreme if it was soft so Sprinter will stay at home. If it's good to soft or better I think Sprinter will be the number one.

Jockey could well choose the wrong one anyway, dont seem to be much between them.Think they should both run in the Supreme, they have both earned the right to run,and both look to have a fair chance.
Different owners, and if i owned one that was in with a chance of winning a race at the festival,i would want to run for sure.

Geraghty seems to think Spirit Son will be even better on good ground.
Admittedly there is no evidence to confirm this yet. I think one of them will win the Supreme so have backed both at 16/1 each. Obviously keen that both run.

Ground today was described as soft/hardwork after the first race, you wouldn't think that after watching SS there, most impressive. I'm officially excited now, I can't think of any reason not to run him after that.

Sprinter Sacre is a big inexperienced brute, still coming to himself. I just love this horse but he may have beaten a few trees again today.

However, he pulled his jockeys arms out for 12 furlongs and then just bUggered off when givena  couple of inches or rein.

If he stays sound he is a horse of the most enormous potential, a champion of the future.

Is he value at around 8 or 9 for the Supreme? I reckong this is about the right rpoice and he has a decent chance. However he is exactly the sort of brute, appearing to resemble a machine that the Supreme some how gets beaten every year. Doed Sprinter look any better than Dunguib did last year?

Comparing with Dunguib? Howay. Sprinter jumps beautifully a natural.

So whose going to be riding the other one when Barry chooses? All the top jocks will presumable  be booked up.Timmy Murphy perhaps, always rated him and think he would be perfect for either.
By:

Timmy would be great. Can't remember him ever riding for Henderson though so I doubt it.

this horse is quite something to watch

wont settle (in all races this season)
cant see a stride and far from a fluent jumper
but still wins pulling handstands

will make a lovely chaser when he matures

Unless AP is free Tinkler will almost certainly ride whatever Geraghty doesn't.

If BJG rides I reckon he'll be 9/2 or less on the day.

If for some reason he dosen't I hope they get someone like Paul Carberry for Sprinter (his ride on Go Native when he won the Supreme was outstanding). Would not want McCoy or Tinkler.

With what we seen on racecourse, and with BG undecided on who he rides, there cannot be a lot between the two SS.
Taking that into account its vital they get top jock for the one BG discards because it may be difference between winning and losing.
With recession proof winning like he did its shaping into a race to savour.
A novice winning like he did beating Bothy is very good form.
Throw in Zaidpour who has good grade 1 form, Cue Card a possible drifting favorite on the day and you see why the bookies love Cheltenham

'We came here with three that we weren't sure about for Cheltenham, but maybe they've played themselves into the team,' the trainer reflected.

'I'd love to put him [Sprinter] away for chasing but the owners would love to go to Cheltenham and he has the speed for the Supreme.'

Been telling you all he's a machine. Get stuck in this chap will smash the supreme into pieces.

Henderson horses like this one always seem to appear world beaters but they went no gallop for most of today's race and it turned into such a sprint that my greyhound would have been placed. Could well be a very good horse but total guess work as to what he has achieved. Obviously it was over further when he got beaten first time this year and it could well be he didn't stay - or it could be that the only race in which he's faced a better class of opposition and had to race at a proper pace showed up his inadequacies.

NJH confirmed he returned a sick horse from that run though Tom, and the way he emptied suggests as much.
