Brigust, there are more novice grade 1's in Ireland, most of them pretty worthless imo.Only 2 in England, one of which is the supreme.
Cue card's form behind Menorah is far better than any form Zaidpour has produced over hurdles that i can see.

Even if Zaidpour destroys this high class field on Sunday, which could well happen given the form of the Mullins horses, I just can't see him being fav ahead of Cue Card. Not that I don't think he'd beat Cue Card but the bookies won't have him ahead of Cue Card in the Supreme betting. I reckon if he wins on Sunday, Willie will realise then that he only has to turn up to win the Neptune Happy

I've backed them both in both so, now CC is not entered for the Neptune, I hope they do avoid each other. Sadly I don't think they will.
Of course Tizzard may still go for the CH with the 2nd in the Supreme worth the same as the 4th in the CH. To win the Supreme the prizemoney is somewhere near the 3rd in the CH. Worth a thought.

buddeliea it seems as tho whatever Zaidpour does on sunday that you would never think that if both he and cue card turned up in the supreme Zaidpour could beat cue card, would you agree with that or like childofmine do you think that its possible he could beat cue card, its just that you would need to see better form beforehand as you call it?

its difficult with novices racing against different horses,so form leading up to the supreme is not easy to work out.Zaidpour will not face a horse as good as Menorah in his build up i would think, but that does not mean that Cue Card is better than him,it just means he has met a better opponent. Now if Zaidpour wins on Sunday,he will probably be a major threat to Cue Card.
If Zaidpour had run against Menorah,he may have done better than CC,who knows?,but as it stands its hard to say that Zaidpour has better form.

Very fair post, thanks for that, the good news is that we only have 6 short weeks till we find out and touch wood every horse gets there fit and healthy as its shaping up into one of the best festivals in years by the looks of the quality due to show up,cant wait

If Zaidpour bolts up on Sunday I think CC will run in the Champion.
Financially I want CC to run in the Supreme and Zaidpour to run in the Neptune but I think the Tizzard's will go for the CH.

Take the 9/4, won't be that come race time in my opinion [;)]
By:

When: 03 Feb 11 19:37
only my opinion but 8/1 still looks a huge price for a race which i firmly believe he will run in,i have him backed at much bigger prices and have still been backing him at 8's
If he wins the way i expect him to on sunday then you could easily see him priced up at 5/2 11/4 3/1 and you will have missed the price, also if cue card goes for the champion hurdle then you will have 8/1 about a horse who just needs to jump round to win [:D]
If you are worried about putting the bet on you could also lower your stake and put him in a double with another horse you really fancy for the festival and the winnings will still be the same for your lower bet
Also on the subject of sunday 9/4 looks a very fair and generous late christmas present from the bookies GET ON!

This is Cheltenham, and its never that easy and never will be.
And that imo is one of the reasons why we love it so much.

Mullins really does make it a nightmare dosen't heCry.

I'm on So Young and Bishopsfurze for the Neptune but now So Young must be 50/50 to go for the Supreme, and Bishopsfurze will be in the Albert Bartlett if he runs at all.

I guess where So Young goes depends on how Zaidpour runs on Saturday. Whicheve race So Young goes for he'll carry my money - looks just like Mikael D'Haugenet did a few years ago - and jumps impeccably.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins was absent but owner Luke McMahon stated “Willie was in favour of coming here instead of taking on his Zaidpour in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle on Hennessy Day as he says it better to win two races than one!”

He added “he showed today that he isn’t slow but we’ll more than likely go for the 2m5f Neptune Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. He is very exciting and Paul (Townend) was impressed.”

“He was well bought by Harrold Kirk from France and once the deal was done, his French trainer (A. Couetil) wanted to run him once more – he said he would cancel the deal if he ran badly and wouldn’t change the price if he won!” Which he did!
