got me again for turn over fee
this isnt much fun anymore, might have to take up pidgeon racing or something |
By:
looks like someone made a mistake in the spreadsheet
By:
The whole fee structure is a fking mistake
By:
new round of phone calls today
By:
About what?
By:
prospective banning of customers who don't fall into line
By:
they have a point...but they need to change the rules.
By:
It's a bit silly to approach a problem on a case by case basis. It's like the episode of Happy Days....If you get rid of Fonzie there'll be another Fonzie to take his place
By:
No one could replace the Fonz
By:
Whoopi might have the Pedigree.
By:
Looks like the phone calls worked judging from the pattern of yesterday's in running trends.
By:
can you expand on that please whoopi?
By:
threats of barring those who back or lay at 1.01 ......not much available yesterday and much of it went unclaimed on the line.
By:
ok.
those laying at more than 1.37 are immune from counting towards the magical 50 market cut off arnt they |
By:
pretty sure that's right L.I.H.
By:
SORRY....all lays are immune.
They don't want 1.01 lays because that means there'll be a 1.01 back...which means they'll lose money. |
By:
the 50 applies to 50 back markets. You can lay in as many as you like.
By:
take a look tonight at the pommy in plays if you havnt already whoopi - the whole thing makes our pools look a like an office calcutta.
one race i saw friday night had 5 or 6 maiden hurdlers going over about 2.5 miles and it held something like $700k. had to laugh when the broadcaster said the winner only cost 7k pounds recently and was now already half way to recouping the cost with that impressive win. christ a 3000 pound winners check! |
By:
I have had a look in the past LIH. The pools are huge, but the time lag puts us at too much of a disadvantage.
By:
They are still doing phone calls? My understanding that those threats stopped when they worked their structure out on how to charge for the turnover charge, and my further understanding was that they are happy for you to do whatever you like but will charge you for anything more than 49 markets if you fall in the guidelines.?
By:
BJT they are far from happy and have made it clear that if you stay within the rules they will still bar you if they deem you to be unprofitable.
By:
I can see their point...1.01 costs them money. I don't know why they don't just ban it on all turnover charge markets.
By:
There's still a guy that backs at 1.05, he must be paying a fortune in this charge....
By:
So why allow 50 markets? Makes no sense at all.
1.01 backs are the least of their worries. Traders trading 50 markets a week will cost them a hell of a lot more than 1.01 backers. But they came up with 50 markets? I am at a loss as to where that comes from. |
By:
Not sure about that. A person backing say $1000 at 1.01 will make 10 dollars and maybe pay 50 cents commission and cost betfair 15 dollars in turnover charge. At least with traders there is some chance the other party is a straight backer or layer and will pay commission.
By:
BJT...All that you have said I have pointed out to them...
By:
And as i predicted to them, somebody new has filled the void today. Managing on a case by case basis is a strategy doomed to failure.
By:
and you all dont think BF is trading itself??

By:
It will be interesting to see what happens to in running when sky analog turns off
By:
Interesting result of the turnover charge is that those who like to take 1.01 are now competing vigorously at those tracks that are turnover charge free. They are taking 1.01 earlier in the straight than ever before, a strategy bound to end in tears.
Take a look at the Melton meeting on Friday. 1.01 went down in 2 of the first 3 races. |
