PC - you might have said earlier on the thread but I won't look - do you bet or trade???

Happy to swap if you want - I'll sit here and win $5k per week and pay the PC - you do my job and clear less than a third of that working 5 days per week CryCryCry

womble, i can't say exactly how i play but 95% of the time i'm laying. I do trade but only when it's too good to refuse.
Hey, i'm here & copping the 20%. But Betfair started as a low cost operator, that's how they got their customer base. Even before the race fields decision they decided to introuce PC as a money grab. It's their way of saying 'we aren't a very bright company & are struggling to grow our business, we'll just behave like banks & rip off our existing customer base'.
I love Betfair, they know it, they know at the moment i can't do what i do anywhere else. That's why they pillage my account most weeks, why do they pretend it's anything else?
The day i started this thread i got the email/call from a Premium customer service rep telling me how i was an important customer & would be treated as such. Give me a ticket to the Cricket once a year or something. LaughLaughLaugh
If i was taking thousands of dollars a month out of a customers account after he'd paid his share of charges just like everyone else. I don't think i'd call/email & say how important he/she is & how i was going to look after him/her.

Anyway, to all the people that complain about the thread, watch out. They'll find a way to take more from everyone as time goes on. That's what they do. & in about July next year i don't think this account will exist anyhow so you'll have to pit up with me until then. 20% isn't great but 40-60% they won't be getting me then Wink

Had to pay turnover charge for the first time...I miscounted...not only did they deduct the money but i got a lecture on how the way I operate costs them money, accompanied by a veiled threat....True story

I paid it twice, I find it's easier to not answer the phone rather than receive a lecture.
How do you operate??

Joel, i been using same tactic doing the same cos i would just lose it with them.

However they rang on my landline & caught me out but thankfully it was just to say they had some concert tickets for me.

Interesting Whoopi, you have stated previously that you bet on very few races and basically only lay horses when questioned about being a race to race gambler. Guess that was just a convenient argument at the time?

I assume you are being frivilous with those figures, BJT.

If not, it's not possible for the Max Premium Charge to be more than the Gross P&L.

It happened to me as well Castiron, as I said they must be increasing the PC to about 150%

Joel, the maximum Premium Charge is 60% if you have lifetime winnings in excess of 250,000 pounds.

How can the PC be more than your gross profit.

Has to be an error.

Yeah, wasn't trying to do anything, just copy and pasted what was on my screen.  If I didn't see the posts here, I would have near necked myself reading it.  An obvious error, but a bit worrying that if it is all automatic, how many errors are happening.  With such a complex calculation, we are expected to have a masters in betfair, just to keep track of if what is being taken is even right, as well as trying to work out how to bet and be profitable.
Not an easy task.

And I am talking as a whole here, I am yet to pay it, so I should still have my 1000 allowance, which appears to have disappeared too.  A worrying sight.

has anyone ever checked if their commission generated is correct? There are weeks that I look at it and think it's way off, but I don't have the time or inclination to go back and check every transaction.

Here is my last 4 weeks in the format Gross P/L, Charges %, Max Possible
8083.22
1.8
13595.98

3749.18
1.83
6304.82

3320.73
6.11
5442.43

5360.13
6.00
750.54

Interesting to note here, that 3 weeks ago, the format of the spreadsheets changed.  Cannot be denied that something fishy has happened with the change in formatting?  Surely three weeks is too long for this to go without being fixed.  Can't imagine for a second that it could be right.

My understanding, was that if you didn't pay 40% in charges, that you would pay fees to bring you up to that level.  So realistically, you cannot pay more than 40% of your profits as a charge (unless you are on 50 or 60% obviously).

Even the first figures, from 4 weeks ago seem a little off.  Seems that figure should have been closer to 1822 rather than 750.
3rd figure should be closer to 1125.  So give them credit, they are only 3300 dollars (pounds) off being right.
Then 1430, and they have given 6300, so another 4900 off.
First one, 3087, so 10,500 off.

In the last 3 weeks alone, they would have overcharged 18,700 in charges.  Needless to say, if I had qualified for that PC, I would be more than a little pissed, apart from obviously being broke.
