Got an eye on Big Sip 1830 hrs Wolves who is currently 9/2 and looks a fair price. Only 6th at Lingfield lto but beaten barely 2l and probably just needed the run.Returns to 1m 1.5F and is a C & D winner under Marco Ghiani who again rides tonight and a big +. Also think
the extra distance will again suit as he takes time to get rolling. I wonder if you lads noticed how unlucky we were not to win the last round and how lucky the winners were? It boiled down to two necks and the winners got lucky twice e.g Marco would have won their race with a clear run and would have prevailed in a few more strides, also the strange late drift. NEC's horse would have won in a few more strides but beaten a neck so I think we can mark up our performance even though it wasn't great anyway and we can do much better. VWD for keeping us in front and let's have more of the same. |
By:
Apologies lads, race was not run as I expected and backfired on Marco, I expected him to drop in but he rushed it to the front and ran out of energy at the end. Ironic that the winner and second were out of the same race as his lto at Lingfield and held up.

FAI FAI Lingfield 3.30. Dropped in from a wide draw last time ran on nicely so should be ripe for this. Eased in grade as well and kindly dropped 2lb as well. Ashley Lewis takes off another 5lb and he his about the best claimer riding in my book. He rode the horse to be second at Brighton last season. Just need the luck in running. Win bet.

Good morning all, good luck acey. Well lads we are on the back foot but we have a further 4 picks today and just a couple of winners would put us in the thick of things imo. Usual request to have your picks in by 1430 hrs and a wildcard selection just in case, back later.
By:
Just noticed Knight Commander has posted for Billposter, Alparslan ( ew ) 1535 hrs Nmkt, best of luck to him.

Stewarts has gone for Apollo One 1345 hrs Nmkt EW.
By:
will hang fire for a while as the one(s) I am looking at are running later on
and depending on early results might need to go for the higher price ew |

Have gone EW on unlucky horse Apollo One 1.45 New. I say unlucky as although he's won 5 races has been placed in another 18, including 2nds in 2 Portland h'caps, 2 Stewards Cups and a Wokingham. Seems to go on most surfaces from heavy to GF and 6fs is ideal. Didn't appreciate the Dirt in Meydan and 7fs was too far in a G2, had a little break since and dropped to a mark of 98 his lowest mark since June 23 in the Wokingham.
Market revolves around the fav Double Rush who is 8lbs well in compared to new mark of 103, was he flattered by his last run over C/D winning by nearly 5 lengths from Coul Angel and Invectus Gold who reoppose on just 5lbs better terms, why bother unless they think that run was false. Hard to see them reversing the form imo but Apollo One has form reads 114327 on 1st run of season, the 7 was a G3 rated 109 and i think 16/1-20/1 is too big. |

Cheers lads, was up against a good horse but held on well for 3rd and gets us on the board with 23 pts. Good luck others still to run.
By:
Billposters is a non runner and it looked liked he had an issue posting so maybe a wildcard may be required if he does not post a replacement.
By:
fwiw the two I am considering are Kats Bob 3.55 Thirsk (win)
and Sterling Knight ew 5.55 Newmarket but im not in the best of form atm will leave it up to you Glen for poss Wildcard |
By:
Ok NEC, have an eye on Marco in the 1720 hrs Nmkt Stellar Vision, for horses who have won no more than one race, he has won and finished a good 3rd lto beaten only 1/2 L over C & D.
By:
ok going to go for Kats Bob at Thirsk drawn wrong side lto
has won off a lb higher than today's OR, 9/2 seems fair enough gl with rest of selections ![]() |
By:
Just found one running on faster side of track Acey, bad luck.
By:
Good luck NEC and Foyles, put up Marco for Billposter, acey went close there.
By:
Could do with some pts now, good luck Foyles, NEC and Glen, thought Billposters NR would go on the Fav in the race he chose though Glen, have to see if UD allows you to change it.
By:
You can change a non runner before the cut off stew.
By:
Yes, i see he's put it in, just assumed Billposter would have to change it.
By:
We desperately need a winner after the Guineas to keep us in touch for next week so everything crossed here.
By:
Kats Bob aran well enough from the front and not been far, just as well I didnt go ew
as chinned on the line but was hampered last 10-20yds by winner |
By:
Foyleswar just chinned for 3rd as well, bad luck lads, all down to Marco now to get us off the bottom.
By:
Missed the race but thought he had 3rd as got paid out but it was 4 places, never noticed. All down to Marco as you say stew, if he fails I think we will be bottom but so far none of the others have got too far in front.
By:
Knew our fate early, did not seem to enjoy the ground?
By:
a bad 1st week so I've put up a speculative pick in the 1000 guineas
100 poke timeforshowcasing e/w guineas I usually find mile form, race fitness & lots of experience way to go has firm ground form which be v useful today & HQ suits pace as well top 4 be handy points |

Hi lads, not a comfortable position at the end of week one but not an insurmountable target to aim for to be among the points again, a couple of winners could put us in the thick of the action. We will be using a wildcard this week as acey is away, no need to wait until Saturday to use it so if anybody has a fancy before, let us know and we can discuss. If none before Saturday please post any up in plenty of time on Saturday, all welcome to have a go.

Off up to Kelso races tomorrow then a day at Berwick and Bamburgh Castle on Friday so will post my selection tonight. Putting up Fairly Fulling in the 3.25.
