Our esteemed settler swift-tuttle came back to life after a shortish drought. He earned 5/1 on Tommie Beau to climb to 14th.
Up top, our leader petemac answered his chasers with Paddy's Poem at 9/2 to create a decent distance to his chasers. Poetry in motion you might say.
Theresa Croude nipped up to second with a fourth-in-a-row shortie, while another odds-on slipped stablemate Justin Time up to ninth.

Paddy And Mick At The Cheltenham Festival
It’s like Christmas and your birthday
All rolled into one
The atmosphere at Prestbury Park
Is second to none
Heading for the terminal
For the ferries and the flights
Will the last man leaving Ireland
Please turn out the lights
Mick Moloney and Paddy Murphy
At their usual B & B
They’ve never missed a Gold Cup
Since Bregawn in Eighty Three
Mick spills a yarn ‘bout his youthful sins
All his Colleens in Killarney
He was Jack the lad way back then
Before he married Fanny Carney
They’re staying at O’Flanagan’s
Where the brekky is a good ‘un
Sausage, bacon, egg and beans
Mushrooms and black pudding
The festival gets underway
The excitement’s at high pitch
Sixty thousand hopeful punters
Dreaming of getting rich
Paddy pulls out a monkey
‘On the nose’ at three to one
Come on my son, come on, come on!
****! there it was....all gone
It couldn’t have been much closer
Just beaten by a nose
Ah, what the feck! Paddy cursed
That’s just the way it goes
The Racing Post in one hand
A pint of black stuff in the other
With just one winner at short odds
They’re desperate for another
Day two, four losers on the belt
Mick was two grand down already
“**** or bust in the next” he said
I’ve got a tip off me Uncle Freddie
It turned into the Irish banker
It won by 15 lengths or more
Backed by every man and his dog
Judged by the Cheltenham roar
Thursday was St Patrick’s day
Sausages sizzling on the griddle
Those Irish eyes are smiling
The girls playing on their fiddles
A stag party from County Mayo
Singing foul mouthed Irish ditties
Dressed up as tarts in fancy dress
Tights, blonde wigs and fake titties
In the Guinness grandstand
The Band is playing “Whiskey in the jar”
Mick’s flat out on his arse again
Paddy’s queuing at the bar
They drew a blank on Paddy’s day
But were too drunk to feel the pain
To Van the man’s “I’ll Tell Me Ma”
They were Irish dancing in the rain
A spicy hot Jalapeños Burger
Had poor Mick rushing to the traps
It cut through him like a dose of salts
He almost filled his cacks
Trying to take a midnight shower
He fell through the shower curtain
Squirming on the bathroom floor
His drinking arm was hurting
Paddy never heard a thing
Himself in a Guinness coma
Snoring and a-farting
The drunken man’s aroma
Friday was the Gold Cup
Paddy had winners all the way
He even cracked the place-pot
For a lucrative final day
Mick’s bad luck continued
He’d lost all his overdraft
He subbed Paddy for his ferry fare
Said“ hey mate we’ve had a laugh”
He texted Fanny from the ferry
Said “he had bad news to bring”
I’ll be taking time off work next week
As my right arm is in a sling
The stag do was still going strong
Singing “The Fields Of Athenry “
For sure, for sure they’ll return next year
To drink the pubs of Cheltenham dry
As the ferry pulled into Dublin
Again Mick’s guts were feeling iffy
If the missus sees his bank statement
He’s gonna end up in the Liffey
Big Fanny with her muscles clenched
A rolling pin held in her hand
“Let’s not fall out over a few bob” he said
She replied “ it’s eleven feckin grand”
Michael.... you Feckless Eejit !
We have the bailiff on our trail
Pray to God I’m gonna kill ya
I’ll be much better off in jail
