4.15 Aintree - Gold Cup Bailly (E/W)
Back up in trip & back in England also still looks on a decent mark (136),won @Ayr 3M off that and was a good 2nd (140) same C&D the run after that. Probably be up with the pace.Gets into a good rhythm can see this running a a big race today. GL ALL |

What are we all going for in the National, lads? I like the Big Dog, along with Le Milos and Our Power. And one at very big price Sam Brown. That run over hurdles might have sweetened him up and and he'll love conditions

By:
Gone for Home By The Lee in the stayers race. Flat track & soft going will really suit. Would have been a lot closer at Cheltenham but for a mistake and being denied a clear run at a crucial part of the race.

|
By:
Been backing A/Post Lifetime Ambition & @60-65s on here for a decent
amount. By the way Gold Cup Bailly runs off (143) today NOT (136). |
|
By:
Very interesting Penznace. If he stays the trip and gets a bit of luck in running, I can see him being thereabouts. Good luck!

I only had 1 bet on the National until 5 minutes ago
Longhouse Post but I’ve just added 3 more for an added interest Vanillier Corach Rambler Coko Beach |

Stunned to find the handicapper has stuck us up 8lb for that Redcar win. Seems very harsh considering the conditions that day.

Rays The One - 2:15 Fontwell 5pts EW
Dropped back down the handicap, 2lbs higher mark than last win (over C&D - Dec 2022) If he doesn’t get his head in front today I reckon he should be good for at least a place (currently 9/1) |

1.50 Ayr Ned Tanner. On my way there no time for an explanation.

Just to confirm Saturday non-runner rules, it needs replacing before the race time or pts will go all in on the fav same race.

2.15 Sand Moroder Has had a light campaign & kept on well for a win LTO. Has won over further, goes on any ground (God knows what we'll get there today). Double figure price will do for me.

By:
There's no two ways about it....it's been a tough slog for the team this round! I'll be looking for one at a price today. GL with that one Chewy, he's just the sort of price winner we need.

|
By:
I couldn’t find any double figured priced runners I would be confident about, but I reckon we should get a good run out of Cap Du Mathan - 3:25 Sandown, but is only priced about 5/1, which will, hopefully, add to the big priced winner that I am sure one of you will come up with

GL Onthehoy. Hopefully one of us can repay the faith you have in us
Looking at one at 33s. Seeing O'Meara getting a winner in the first at Haydock is an encouraging sign for my selection. The yard has been in poor form of late so maybe they've turned the corner today? |
|
By:
UL Chewy ran a great race.
|
|
By:
I've gone for Orbaan in the 3.45 Haydock. It looked as if David had found the key to this horse last season and he ran a string of fine races, including 2 very unlucky races at York & Goodwood. David, certainly does well with these old boys and I wouldn't put it pass him if he puts a win in listed race on the board before the end of the season. The horse needs a decent pace and he should get that with Biggles & Gweedore taking them along. It could be the horse needs a few races to put him spot on? But at the prices he's worth chancing in what is a really competitive race
|

Missed your last post The Dealer. I think the handicapper was probably about right. She just ran into one on a roll last time out. She's been edged up another lb I see but I'd say she's still on as mark she can win off. GL

I was going to put up Accidental Agent - 3:00 Newmarket, but I see SontaranStratagem has picked one for that race, so I will go for my only other selection today:

Good day lads. What's everyone backing for the 2000gns? It looks as if Adian has yet another very strong hand in the race. Chaldean should be there about's at the finish and I'm planning on backing Noble Style in running if I see him settle. He's not the easiest to train and he looks a bit of tricky ride but I honestly think he's the horse with the most ability in the race. It might be that 6f or even 7f will be his ideal trip but he wasn't stopping at York and it's worth finding out early in the season if he'll stay the mile or not.
The big sprint on the card looks as competitive as a race as you can get. Any horse that needs a strong pace to aim at will most certainly get that here! So I was looking at 2 old boys who love a big field and fast pace....Chairmanoftheboard and an real old favourite in Summerghand fit the bill perfectly. They will of course need plenty of luck in running. Over at Goodwood, I notebooked Quantum Impact after his win at Newbury on his final 2yo start. In my notes I wrote that he probably didn't really enjoy the heavy going but his likable way of racing and the touch of class he has got him through it. I think he could turn out better than an handicapper. Today will tell us more. Btw, it good to see Totnes win at Lingers the other day. Nothing went right for he but she still won with plenty in hand. It was only a class 5 but I really do believe she'll be listed class by the end of the season. Good luck today lads. And especially to the The dealer with his tough, soft ground loving mare. I hope she gets another rise in the handicapper after Sunday! ![]() |
