Isolate - 2.44 Haydock 10pts win for The Mob

LTO win has certainly been boosted, I also fancy there's still a race in Kings other runner, who has plummeted in the weights. That Cannon rides this one certainly seems a tip in itself.

I have to go out shortly, may not be back before 3pm. If someone could make sure a wildcard is picked in case Monte is a no show, don't be shy!

Only put this up on here for now. The going was pretty desperate today, and non runners might wreck the race forcing me to think again.

5.19 Cork Transmission EW

This looks a decent race for an extended bumper. My selection has finished well beaten in two points, but has shown a willing attitude, and has probably finished behind a couple of decent winners, one of which is one of the favourites for next year's Festival bumper. Although his pedigree doesn't particularly suggest stamina, Transmission has shaped like a thorough stayer and that might be a useful attribute in these conditions. His trainer must view him as a stayer to start him over this trip. Currently, as big as 20/1, that's a few points more than I expected.

stu and Celeric CoolCool

Wont be around later this week so have plumped for Nietsche in the 2.45 Sedgefield, down in grade, slightly down in the weights, looks a good opportunity.

Apologies in advance, we need a 10/1+ winner to have any chance of winning, and I can't see one over the next two days.

3.35 Sandown Cash Win

In a better position I might have gone each way, but there's not much point. This is very much form against potential, and despite the favourite looking solid in the market, I have plumped for potential. River Thames is by Churchill who hasn't made a good start as a stallion. They seem to look the part, but lack the engine, and this one also has a question mark on the stamina front. Cash won what was probably a very ordinary Newmarket maiden, barely coming off the bridle. His dam stayed a mile and six so the trip should be no issue. The obvious negatives are the connections. Simcock doesn't seem to start his season for another four months, and you never quite know what to expect from Spencer. It could be he will be held up out the back, and never get involved. Let's hope not. The market will probably provide some sort of indication.

An object lesson in how to get virtually everything right, and end up with zero points instead of 120. Desperate stuff.

Thanks, it was only unlucky in the sense that Spencer tried to be clever and win a short head. Those 120 points would have put us second, 20 points off the leaders, and with 5 selections in hand.

Good luck tomorrow.

Nice pick Monte

Whatever Muffs sel does, we will still need a 10s plus winner.

I'm sticking a pin on

Glynn - 5.15 Sandown 10pts win for The Mob

Impressive novice, who was fav for the Albert Bartlett at one point. Obviously had his problems, lets hope another wind op works the oracle.

Well done on today's points. We have ended up fifth on the week, but were effectively a short head away from winning the week and going a clear second in the overall table. I got a little bit of personal compensation with Hewick today, but even then I ended up taking a shorter price than SP. At least there are four weeks left, and a nice mix of jumping (Punchestown) and flat next week.

Galvin - 5.55 Punchestown 10pts win for The Mob

I don't think the Gold Cup was run to suit, hopefully this race will be run at a better clip, most of these would prefer 2.5m or are past their prime. Trainer seems in better form than at Chelt.

Bit of prior notice, I won't be around on Saturday. We already need a wildcard for Dragon, so if someone could volunteer to ensure all selections are made and a wildcard is picked it would be much appreciated

Just seen that Moose is backing one in the Gold Cup so I'll go for Hendersons in the 3.45. Good luck anyone playing today.

I intend to go with this one, but will confirm on the main thread tomorrow.

7.45 Punchestown  Joyeux Machin

For me this was the biggest disappointment of the whole Cheltenham Festival. I was very hopeful he would finish in the five, if not better. Hopefully, it was totally a ground issue, and being pulled up he didn't have too hard a race. Anywhere near his best, and I think he finishes in the first two tomorrow. The favourite is promising, but he has probably enjoyed the heavy ground on both starts. Quicker ground might well bring them together. Stable form is the biggest concern. That might keep the price attractive enough to go each way.

When: 28 Apr 22 13:16
Stuck with it even though it is 8/1 about what should be a 4/1 shot. Daily Present was the first beat yesterday, but that was surely down to the ground so I will chance the trainer getting this one right.

15-20 points will not us much good so it's a win selection.

Very disappointing, the market was correct, at least in terms of Joyeux Machin.

Joyeux Machin had beaten today's winner two runs ago. Today there was a turnaround of 25 lengths so pretty safe to say he hasn't run anything approaching his best. At one point it was looking as if Paul Nolan had discovered three nice prospects in Daily Present, Joyeux Machin and Sandor Clegane, but they have all taken significant steps backwards. The question for the punter is whether it is just trainer form, or something more serious.

Good luck for the rest of the week.

Although we didn't get any points looking at it positively we are only one good winner off the top.

I had a shocking day on here getting disqualified for tipping a winner that was 15 minutes too late, and then forgetting about the wildcard. I backed four winners of my own (maybe a bit of justice) so a fair chance I might have got us a few points.

Good luck next week. Plenty of jump cards during the week.

Well my day didn't go as planned...

Was meant to be going to the Villa game and a few drinks round Brum town.

Ended up taking the Mrs to A&E, her spending 6hrs down there and me sat waiting around Cry

She's ok.

Plenty to play for next week

Well pretty much as we were at the start of the week. Still no points, but two selections in hand of everyone except the Thieves. It's been a tricky week, and it doesn't get much easier tomorrow. Fingers crossed we can land a couple of winners, and shake the table up a bit.
