I will be putting up Wolfspear in the 8.40 at Perth tomorrow. Trainer always likes a winner there and horse looks to have been prepared for the meeting. Only had the five runs and first time out beat the now very decent handicapper First Street (147). It was a First run in a handicap last time at right handed Market Rasen (same as Perth), was held up 4th last most of the way and kept to the outside (not the way to ride the track if you are intent on winning). Made ground out wide and ran on well to be a never nearer third. I backed the winner Ashoker that day (put it up here) as it was a stone bonking certainty (has won twice since and gone up about 18lbs).
Wolfspear runs off the same mark (99) and the conditional who does really well for the yard takes another 3 pounds off. Will improve for the extra 2f and is one to back when the prices come out at around 5pm today. Not gone all that way for the shortbreads.  Good luck. |

Eglantine Du Seuil ran a fine race behind Panic Attack (fine second in Swinton Hurdle last week), pair along way clear of third. Nothing of Panic Attacks calibre in this race.
Decent bet at about 3/1. Runs 6.20 Uttoxeter and might be worth considering as a reserve bet, if one needed. |

Northern Express 4.40 Thirsk 10pt win
Trained by in form Dodds, is on my horses to follow list after very nice 1st run of season, won 2 nice races last season should be there or thereabouts imo. Just hope other horse on my list Gobi Star running today at Navan doesn't bolt in at 2.40, but swayed by the fact was hoping to see that one running over further,6/7fs |
