Only 2 of us left to post and looks like bluenose is not around
I've got one EW in the 3.00 Uttoxeter Gustavian But will stand aside if anyone else wants the wildcard |
By:
Duke - you had a wildcard selection last week and I have also had one, so I think that in the spirit of the competition the wildcard selection needs to be made by one of the other team members this week. I would suggest if bluenose has not posted by 2.00 that someone uses the wildcard selection. If no-one is around to be reading this I am sure that undecided will be able to make a selection, provided he has recovered from all his Cheltenham exertions.

I have a three I fancy today and will probably put Mellow Ben (K 3.15) up as my each way pick in this comp. Full of front runners but back in trip on this ground he might outstay the others up the straight. The run at Newbury was quite something as he has gone way too fast, along with all those who raced prominently; both the winner, who was last leaving the back straight, and the 2nd who was held up, won comfortably but the selection did really well to stay on for third.
That may be why they subsequently tried 3m (wrong ground at Xmas) and outclassed next time. If there had been 8 runners in the K 2.05 I may have put up Havana Hernando but will pass on this. He may not want the ground to be too quick but hopefully (as I will be backing it!!) it will be as described. At Uttox in the 4.25 I will be backing Brianstorm ew. The form of the Exeter race, where he finished in front of Eclair Surf who has gone on to win as have the 3rd and 5th in the race. Its next two runs have been poor but it wouldn't be the first time a VW horse came back to form. Good luck all today |
By:
Sorry I meant to add that in view of my other fancies they probably don't fit quite with the ew type the competition seems to prefer.

Good luck The Sawyer.
Regarding cover for bluenose, I will be around to post something by 3pm if required but I wish to stress that I don't have anything specific and if anyone else wants to jump in be my guest. |

Well done undecided, sorry been watching the rugby, hopefully that will enable us to have the lead at half-time unless stewpot comes up with one of his specials.

Sorry lads, I have been watching Luton as always so haven't seen any of this until our fine victory has been completed.
Mind you - youre better off without me anyway i think! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Start of the flat in Ireland at The Curragh with the Irish Lincoln ours next Saturday at Doncaster,no AW meeting until Friday so its jumps mid week
If we keep to our EW picks we've got every chance of winning |

Afternoon all
Sorry a bit late with this - and I was hoping it would be a bigger price - but I am going to select Goodnight Charlie EW in the 2.07 Chepstow. Shouldn't be inconvenienced by the ground and ran really well last time out at probably its fav course. Chepstow is a front runners track and I can't see it being out of the frame - good luck all today. |
By:
Good luck with that one, these long distance chases can be a nightmare!
By:
Sometimes you wish there were shorter run ins, although I suppose you probably wish there were longer ones as many times as well. The scoreboard keeps ticking along though.
By:
well done The Sawyer, fought off all but the winner.
By:
still no sign of bluenose.

It looks as if bluenose is unlikely to be posting this week again, so I think we need to get someone ready to make a wildcard selection. Three of us have already made such a selection and thus I think that either qqking, lockup, The Sawyer or madhatter should be making the wildcard selection this week, so if you could each look at making such a selection tomorrow provided bluenose has not appeared by then, that would be appreciated.
Although I normally prefer to wait until Saturday to make my selection I am looking at one at Musselburgh today, so I will decide later whether to go today or wait until tomorrow. |

Re the wildcard for today, I have looked at two races, the 1.35 at Kelso and the 2.20 at Newbury.
The Kelso race is now down to 7 so is probably out for EW purposes - and there's nothing in it that really interests me at the prices. The Newbury race is quite a big field for this competition but I do like Orchardstown Cross who I think should be fav. It'll be around the 6 or 7 mark I would think but with only 3 places perhaps it is not suitable. Good luck all today. |
By:
Great shot ud, only just noticed his!
Hopefully will go a long way towards securing another victory for us ![]() ![]() 's.I am/was looking at Dubai Angel e/w 2.20 Nwb, Man Of The Night e/w 3.10 Donc or One True King e/w 2.50 Newb in that order. I am happy to let others choose first and I will take any race that is left over from those three or indeed find something else. I can post right up to off time as I dont have my beloved LTFC as a distraction this week! |
By:
Right; too many runners really in the Lincoln for this compy and given our position
![]() ![]() , not enough in the 2.50 Newb and The Sawyer fancies one in the 2.20.I will therefore select Molineaux - 5.10 Newbury e/w which has the perfect eight runners (at this time). I won't put it up on the official thread until nearer the 3.00 cut-off time so that if it drops to 7 runners i can reconsider and maybe put up Lady Quickstep - 7.00 Wolves instead. Come on the Demons!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
Nice one Undecided
By:
for me either Ruinous win or Italian spirit e.w, think if Ruinous doesnt keep jumping right he is the best bet but italian Spirit is an e.w price still debating
By:
right due to our position will go e.w on Italian spirit, happy to put Ruinous 5.10 as a wildcard let the skipper decide how he wants to play it.
By:
As lockup has now highlighted an interest in tipping up in the 5.10 Newb which I had selected in then i dont have a clue as to what to do now - so no change there then!
![]() I guess i will now move to the 7.00 Wolves and Lady Quickstep if that's ok captain? |
By:
It is up to everybody in the team to make there own decisions as to their selections; I know I am having great difficulty in making my own today. Was thinking I would go for one of a few I had under consideration on the flat but they are all fairly big prices, so I feel in the position we are in that is probably not what I should be going for today. At the moment I think I am likely to have a go at Kelso with one of the Skelton horses and West To the Bridge in the 2.05 looks the most likely selection at the moment but that could of course change!
By:
madhatter, I have not botheed looking at the Wolverhampton card so I have no idea as to its chances, but if you want to go for Lady Quickstep feel free.
As far as today's wildcard is concerned The Sawyer seems to have done the necessary study to come up with a selection and I think he should post his selection provided bluenose has not appeared by 2.00. |
