Gone with a shortie in Chabada. 5.45 Wolver.
Don't think Fundy has posted yet, anyone got a wild card pick just in case one is needed? |
|
By:
Put up Crown Choice, EW, 5.15 Wolver as a wild card.

Poor run from my wild card pick. Thought he could be interesting on his debut for Midgeley (whose stable is showing signs of hitting the ground running into the Flat season), especially as there appeared to be money around for the horse, but after travelling well into the straight he faded away tamely.
Disappointing and I won't be adding the horse to my mythical notebook. Good luck this week. |

Some nice picks at the weekend, hopefully I'll put something on the scoresheet for the team soon.
Dream Alliance runs tomorrow in the Cross-Country. He got beat 20 lengths last year, despite being reluctant to race early on. This year he is 8lbs lower and seems to be in a much better frame of mind - Rhys Flint was really excited after giving him a spin over fences a couple of weeks ago (all runners have to show that they can cope with them in advance), but can't do the weight. He bled two races back at Ffos Las and has been treated for this, but last time out he didn't seem to want to press on when the tempo increased as if he thought it would happen again. Its a big if, but if he's got that out of his mind there will be far worse 50/1 shots this week. The other downside is that the ground is faster than ideal. Off to Cheltenham in the morning - have a great week all. |

I was going to plump for Shadow Catcher in the Triumph but it is a hard race. It's very well fancied and I'm on at 18/1. I'm going to plump for Simonsig tomorrow in the 2.05 to give Henderson another winner |

nice Cheltenham winner Ra. I've had loads of winners this week as I took the stance that favourites would do well - even so it needed my biggest winner of the week that I needed to make a small profit.
Pasha Bere (trained by Nick Gifford)in the charity race - like Henry Cecils runner last year was it? - looked to be a set up. I didn't even realise this race was on until an hour before and when I found the Betfred shop next to the local was offering 11/1 I couldn't believe it. I persuaded everyone in the pub to have a tenner each way and helped myself to quite a bit more on mobile with Paddy Power at 10/1. We roared with laughter as it seemed like the jocks on the leading pair were bouncing up and down on their mounts rather than driving forwards, seemingly waiting for Tina Cook(nee Gifford) to get up near the line. With Josh Gifford's death very recent - this really did look like a Festival set up for a horse trained and ridden by his children. I was a bit messy when I got home later in the evening! ![]() ![]() |

Good luck Shane in the AW div. As Stu said, looks like I've got the chump's hex this month!
Looks like we've scraped into 3rd place for this round, so valuable points as it turns out, Shane. |
