It's ok book, it's not duplicate as Quito is out of the comp, so Silviniaco Conti will stand ok?

nice win FCH and GL book in the 305 and fundy in the 340.

Then, unusually for us (at least in times past) we sit it out for the evening and await our fate.

It's looking grim! Though, even in the unlikely event that we do qualify, starting next week with a 100-point deficit would make it mission impossible anyway.

In the hope that Huntingdon beats the frost, I've gone for Najca de Thaix e/w in the 12.35.  I suspect that there is going to be little or no turf racing during the week.

Have i got this right lads, i may as well go for a big price win ??

Or we could select 8 even-money winners to give us a 60-point lead, and then hope for the best Laugh

Wouldn't go trying to find big priced winners, personally. If we can score with about five or six from the eight picks, we might make it interesting.
I'm swithering about one today at Southwell. I was keen on Muldoon's Picnic at Huntingdon, so disapointed to see the meeting is off.

I've got an inkling for one at a bit of a price, so I'll take a chance with it, 10 points win.

Steed: 1.45 Suvvell (currently a 10 / 12-1 poke with the books).

The sire, Mujahid, has decent stats at the track (eg Hidden Glory won t'other day at 25-1).

Has shaped as if needeing more of a test than 6f (eg as when grabbing 3rd late on under today's jockey at Hamilton behind a Noseda hotpot).

Has Julie Burke's valuable 7lb claim to help and gets the cheeky-cheekpieces for the first time.

The run at Wolver LTO possibly not as bad as it appeared given he didn't get much of run around the inside.

A bit chancey this because the horse may not be straightforward (has been led to post and fluffed the start). But possibly some positives too, so that's where my pin has landed.

Good luck with your picks this week.

GL, George. I was keen on Love Delta in the 2.15. The way it won it's last race was quite remarkable but the trip of 7F does put me off a bit. It gets well behind in it's races and seems to resent the kickback.
I won't let it run loose and I'll have a few quid on Steed as well.

Had a great lift yesterday with an each way lucky fifteen. All four won at 5/2, 11/2, 4/1 and 11/4. Could have done with using one of them as a selection...

Congratulations on the Lucky 15 win, RN.

I couldn't put you off Love Delta. Looks as if 7f won't be a problem on both sides of pedigree (damsire AP Indy) and runs like it could suit. But as you say, that tendency to get behind is a slight concern. The MJ horses seem right back in form after a lull.

Steed is a bit speculative, but in a weak race, worth a small bet.

Good luck.

Having just seen that interview with Julie Burke on the chances of Steed, I'm hardly filled with confidence Sad I got the impression she was saying he's a bit of a hound!

Well done George. Game on now. Maybe even KRL will come up with a winner, but I wouldn't hold my breath [;)]

Glad I didn't go with Love Delta - race panned out as I thought it might.

Cheers, guys. It got a bit desperate in the last few strides but thankfully the head-bob went our way.

RN, he's either a horse to back when drawn on the outside (the outside appears an advantage today, incidentally) and can avoid the kick-back, or one for a small bet in-running at big odds.

It's certainly put a different perspective on things, BB - for now, at least, the chance to be more selective and play EW or at shorter odds.

I'm going to go for Omaruru ( each way ) in the 12.35 at Plumpton. The ex-Prescott flat stayer, Comedy Act, is odds on favourite but it's worth taking it on as it's first time over jumps and the sharp track at Plumpton is not sure to suit.
I managed to get 10/1 last night with Betfair but note it's down to around 6 or 7/1 now

Shane, I know the horse quite well because when she ran at Wolver on her second run, she was still patently green and didn't handle the bend from a wide draw, and I thought the run was much better than it looked. So when she turned up at Lingfield 3 weeks later with a better draw, I napped her in the AW comp' and had a decent EW bet on her, and she did me a good turn coming second at 25s.

I must admit, the wide draw over 5f again worries me, but it isn't insurmountable. So good luck!

Well done on the place points, RN.
A big thanks to Mark Bradburn for keeping that going for 3rd, imo, bearing in mind its third run for a mark, could've eased off slightly when his winning chance had gone.
