I've gone early this week with Rosewood Lad ew.

Nice place points, BB, well done.
I must admit, I thought you being a little brave picking one in a 15-runner, Class 7 handicap around Lingers, but hey, good shout! |
|
By:
the line between brave and stupid is very fine ( icannot even see it with my eyesight!). Stan Moore has his string in top form and has proven this last week that absence is no bar to winning - unfortunately this one didn't. But at least the points are not wasted.
|

By:
Good spot, bb, I hadn't really picked up on Stan Moore's form.
Obviously when I used the word 'brave', I was referring to the nature of the track given there seems to more trouble in running around there than at the other AW tracks, and horses who end up on the inside in the 'swamp', not appearing to see their races out as well as those on the middle-to-outside. But a good start to the week, just what we needed. |

I knew a guy a few years ago who won a 2 year old in a compy at Newbury and it was trained by Stan Moore. The horse was sired by Cadeaux Genereux and unsurprisingly loved the soft - nearly winning at 66/1 in a Newmarket maiden or some such. BUT would Stan Moore run it on soft again... only once (it won). My pal was of the opinion that Stan More was a complete plonker and knew nothing. Maybe he has employed someone who can help him out... dunno, just know hes had a couple race back from long lay offs run above or at least to theirr form. GL.

Looks like we're up against it following robster's good winner for the Punts yesterday.
Taking a chance on Desert Strike EW (currently about 10-1 with the books), 2.20 Kempton. Good luck with your picks this week. |

9-2 - what happened to me 10-1
![]() Beggars can't be choosers though, so I'm happy just to have a found a winner (for a change). Hopefully it's given us a half-a-chance of getting through. |

Well done GEORGE, im making a selection tomorrow, i`ll post it on this thread too.
Im due a winner for the pins, i`ll devote an hour in the morning to the cause. Good luck for the rest of the week. |

Another loser, sorry. Im just into balance things up, some good judges in the pins team, just hope i don`t drag you down to my level [;)]. Good luck for future selections this week
|

Not to worry, Shane, you called it right between the main 2 in the market, just unlucky to run into another that Evans has possibly improved on the second start for him.
I remember watching Better Self getting turned over at shortish odds in a claimer for Ann Duffield and thinking they'll do well to win a race with her. But a bit of Welsh air and different tactics today (less use made of her early on), and in she goes. |

I wish i`d have waited for Sizing Australia tomorrow, didn`t realise it was running
![]() |
|
By:
Believe me, shane, I am the worst judge on the team. I think i've picked about five winners all year! Seriously. But it seems everyone on the team is prepared to let me get away with such rubbish performance...... so maybe i'm not the worst judge after all.

|
By:
I`ll give you a good run for worst judge bb
If i dont pick a winner over the next 3/4 weeks i shall offer my resignation ![]() |
|
By:
I've been in poor form all year too, I suspect my record is worse than bettys
![]() |
|
By:
only winners are allowed to resign shane [;)]
FCH - you're excused on account of ...... no there is no excuse ... you'll have to start paying your Hobbs contacts more so they tip you more winners. |
|
By:
anyway, FCH, a very loose continuim here, but speaking of records I have actually performed "live" on BBC Radio 2 - or was it 1? - SOLO!!. Well it was a live performance, recorded and replayed on a Saturday morning. I leave you all in mystery .... it never led to any repeat offers..

Shane, where did you post your selection, I can't see it on the selection thread!
Hang on, I see you posted it above - LOL!!! |
|
By:
Does the selection stand?
I guess the question should be: If it had won, will it have stood? That's for undecided to answer. Fwiw, my own view would be, in fairness and being good sports, it should stand. |

Going with Spirit River in the 12.10 at Cheltenham
Had jumped brilliantly for ten fences before putting in another stride for Geraghty at the eleventh. Not sure how much the jockey contributed to the fall. It wasn't a heavy one, which is a plus and the horse was maybe a wee bit too keen on it's first start since March. I give it a big chance here. |
|
By:
Gone for figaro flyer S2.40. This horse can easily win this race if its allowed to put its best foot forward. - g/l all
|
|
By:
GEORGE - let me look at that one, im not sure, was a busy day at work yesterday.
|
|
By:
I didn`t post the selection for ud, gormless or what. Good job it didn`t win.
I get another go today, will post later ( on both threads ) |

Gone for Sizing Australia 5pts e/w 3:00

|
By:
Just noticed no 3:00 race on here, guess it was called off.
Somehow i`ll make a selection this week if it kills me. Viking Blond 1:50 5pts e/w |

the cross country course still frozen hence no 3.00. Well done George and gl those playing today. As usual ill bring up the rear tomorrow lol |
|
By:
Good call, Shane. I thought he was going to hold them all at bay at one point, but a 14-1 3rd is a good result. Well done.
|
|
By:
Me too GEORGE, i backed e/w so can`t complain. Just glad to get a few points on board for the team.
|
|
By:
Good luck fundy, thanks for info as i can get tied up at work.
|
|
By:
well done today and apologies for Spirit River - it's better than that.
|
|
By:
Nice place points Shane. I am going for Time For Rupert at Cheltenham. Could be watching the Sun Alliance winner here......oh I've picked him, so probably not.
Good luck Pins |
|
By:
nice place points yesterday, shane. GL with yours FCH. Unfortunately I think TFR has big potential as a chaser and is certainly with the right trainer.
GL to book and fundy playing today. |
|
By:
Morning, chaps. I see we have a 30-point lead over the Newbies who have all 8 selections to play, and an 87-point lead over the Thieves who have 7 left to play.
Think we could be up against with the Newbies in particular for the probable one remaining place. Good luck to Fundy, FCH & book. |
|
By:
Nice one, FCH. Gives us a little more breathing space.
|
|
By:
wd FCH
have pinned Highland Valley in the last at chelt, just hope it goes as well on good ground. anyone got a wildcard in mind, think its fair to assume we will need one |
|
By:
I've noticed book post after 3 before, so he may show yet. If not, we're allowed to post on the evening racing for the Champions League.
And at least by then we should know what we need to do (if anything) in order to qualify. |
