Yes, there is very little fairness in it and there is no point thinking so and so is due a late/early spot.
Certainly over the past few XFs and AIs some people hog the decent positions and others barely ever get one, and some people like John and Lloyd tend to get stuck in early-mid slots as TPTB seem to like to start and end with a bang. |
By:
Its also worth bearing in mind that with 11 acts left, 3 will not be going on the X Factor tour and they will be keen to get a balanced mix to increase ticket sales, for example if 4 girls were left in the last 8 it would be an incredibly unbalanced mix of acts to make a good nights show. I think they would be keen for Wagner to be on the tour as a novelty act, my guess for the 8 they would be keen to tour are:-
Matt One Direction Wagner Rebecca Mary Aiden Cher Katie That would leave Paije, Belle Amie and Treyc to be next 3 out |
By:
I'm not sure I'm going to be placing too much faith in the whole running order stats.
I remember Leona and Ray Quinn both being on 1st at some stage in 2006 and they both made the final. No doubt there will be others as well. |
By:
Quick adjustment of the order average (corrected for number singing week and put slightly more weight on more recent performances):
KATIE 12.4 WAGNER 12.1 BELLE AIME 10.7 AIDEN 10.7 MARY 10.5 TREYC 7.6 MATT 7.4 ONE DIRECTION 7.1 CHER 5.1 REBECCA 4.8 PAIJE 2.9 |
By:
Surely they would prefer Treyc to be part of a tour, over Wagner?!
He would still do a guest spot on the tour anyway, but I can't see them wanting him to be one of the final eight. |
By:
Is there not another potential angle to the running order?
Call me cynical, but have the producers finally cottoned on to the betting?! Surely it's no coincidence that the last three on were the three favourites to be eliminated this week (Belle Amie, Wagner and Katie). But the 4th and 5th in the betting (John and Paije) were on 1st and 2nd... They could've had it right off! If nothing else, it does betray who they wanted to go. They clearly decided that they wanted to sacrifice one of the 'faceless' soul dudes, who can belt out a ballad but have little personality to offer... Whatever the truth, it's impossible to have a bet on the elimination market unless you've had the inside word on the running order! |

Dizzy
Yes I think the elimination market is very erratic. |
By:
I'd say the pushing of Katie (10, 11, 12) has a lot to do with proving 'right' her inclusion ahead of Gamu too
By:
Good point Deejay. Possibly yes.
By:
She was originally meant to go on last in the first show but was swapped with Treyc, much to her dismay!
By:
Yes, there's definitely a fair bit of ramping going on for Katie that's for sure... Likewise Wagner - how can anyone say that Cowell and the producers don't still want him in?! All good publicity for the time being...

Interesting that Treyc featured on her own between adverts.
By:
will the curse of Mary continue and put Aiden in the bottom 2
By:
I hope they start giving Rebecca some better slots soon.
Yet to have a pimp week of any sorts. |
By:
Imp,
Ever heard of the phrase 'being held up for a late run? [;)] |
By:
What do people think the effect of trayc being on, on her own and between adverts. Will do to voters at home?
By:
People will have gone for a pee after her and forgotten about her by the time they got back.

Stating the bleeding obvious, but for reference the eliminations have so far included:
FYD (1st), Storm (1st), John (2nd), Belle Amie (3rd). The curse continues... |
By:
thats only apparently 'bleedin obvious' if you cherry pick ... other bottom 2 or 3 contestants have been:-
Diva Fever(7th), TreyC(7th), Katie(9th), Katie(10th), Nicolo(12th) and Belle Amie(12th) |
By:
My guess (and it's only a guess) would be that Storm, John and Belle all finished last in the public vote, although we only know that for sure about BA.
For the others it has either come down to song choice - or in the case of Katie, pure dislike... |
By:
Storm obviously finished bottom of the PV.
By:
That's right, of course he did...
The point I was trying to make was that of those eliminated so far, four appeared in the first three. Only Nicolo and Diva Fever did not - and DF were not bottom of the public vote. |

2nd week in a row TreyC has been in a section by herself. Not sure if this is significant.

bottom 2 or 3 i meant obv.
Other than first or last which is tied in with introductions/ recaps etc. those who had stand alone slots were:- Cher, Treyc, Diva Fever, Cher, Aiden, Treyc, Treyc. If it helps getting votes to have your own in-between ads slot, maybe they're trying to nurse Cher, Aiden and Treyc through to the last 8 to get them tied to being on the tour |
By:
Total red herring imho
They couldn't give a monkeys about Tracy |
By:
Rebecca has only been past halfway once and that was only just past halfway.
She's clearly being held up for a late run. Let's just hope it's Dancing Brave in the Arc and not in the Derby ![]() |
By:
TraySee is a non entity, shouldn't even be in the Finals.
By:
Five Leaves: Rebecca ... clearly being held up for a late run.
Couldn't agree more mate. |
By:
Let's just hope Cowell manages it and doesn't do a Greville Starkey and let Matt get an unassailable lead.
By:
FLL and OTHH - very apt analogies!
Got to be a two horse race between these two now - but there's a chance that Matt by setting a blazing pace will do a Mister Baileys... Rebecca is still sitting with a double handful in behind. She is clearly being groomed in the same way that Joe, Alex and even Leona were understated and undersold in the first few weeks. I think they would be happy with either of these two winning - as would I [;)] |
