Warren Gatland was using reverse psychology when he spoke earlier this week of Wales' many defeats at Twickenham over the last two decades. I played in an England team that didn't lose at home for over four years so, just as it might be difficult for the Welsh to visualise winning at Twickenham, it's weird for me to see the Red Rose as 2.66 outsiders on their own patch.
Of all the home nations, I enjoyed beating Wales most. Stuart Lancaster's young team are in for a serious test on Saturday but I'd give anything for another crack at the Dragon. There's plenty that I admire about this Welsh team and, although the picture is skewed by France's postponement in round two, Wales have so far been the top Six Nations performers.
England are building confidence and gelling as a unit but Wales...

Will Wales rally themselves after last week's agonising defeat to France? I believe they will but they have my sympathy because I thought Alain Rolland was completely wrong to send off Sam Warburton. The opening 20 minutes of a World Cup semi-final is an intense time with players making big hits and hard tackles but I didn't think Warburton got carried away. There was nothing malicious about his tackle on Vincent Clerc and Rolland's snap decision killed a huge game.
Wales should be very proud of what they have achieved over the last six weeks. They have announced to the world that they are a serious force that can contend for the top honours and this campaign is just the beginning. There's some speculation that Warren Gatland might...
Wales' World Cup performances get better and better so I'm not surprised that they are favourites to beat France to reach their first final. They were magnificent against Ireland and, with England out, I've bought a Welsh shirt and am getting right behind the Dragon.
There is strength throughout their ranks; Adam Jones is a rock, Gethin Jenkins tackles like a back-rower and runs like a centre; in midfield, Jonathan Davies and Jamie Roberts have been excellent. Warren Gatland deserves a lot of credit for the cohesion he has instilled in his team and his success in making them believe that they can beat the best.
Gatland faces a selection dilemma if Rhys Priestland fails to recover from his shoulder injury. The Scarlets fly-half has been excellent and those around him have thrived on...
As the opening Six Nations match in a World Cup year and with the history between the two nations, Wales v England on Friday night is going to be immense. It's the greatest game in the greatest stadium and I wish I could pull my boots on and have one last crack at the Welsh.
England are deserved [1.66[ favourites to get off to a winning start but it won't be easy. They're a better side than Wales on paper but the atmosphere in Cardiff is unbelievable, the Millenium is a beautiful stadium and it will be buzzing at kick-off. This match will be less about individual performances, more about team mettle, standing up in the Dragon's cauldron and coming away with no regrets.
Warren Gatland's attempts to wind up Dylan Hartley were brilliant. Martin Johnson has responded, ex-players like ...
