Btw Menelaus keeps insisting on talking about theoretical knowledge of economics as some form of intellectualism.
As they say, economics is not even a science, rocket or otherwise.
If you can read and write, you are pretty much able to follow and understand the economic debate, and make a reasonable informed judgement on what you do and do not agree with.
Menelaus seems to have a bit of a problem with the do not part of this last sentence.

It's only when you realise that Melly is a narcissist that it all falls into place. You will get more interaction with a brick. He doesn't have any interest in the thoughts of anybody else because he has all the knowledge he needs. He will screen out anything which is inconvenient and latch onto anything which reinforces his views however implausible.

My considered view is that he is clearly suffering from small willy syndrome.

To Whippet
Don't worry about it.
After all he could call you worse. A friend maybe ?
This **** analogy stuff is all just part of the old fashioned lingo in the City to indicate being macho, or talking the talk and walking the walk. Means nothing.
It's perhaps just as well Menelaus doesn't suspect any poster on here as being female, or else we would then get all the predictable misogynist stuff too.
The man's a parody of everything that is wrong with all these misfits who still see themselves as Masters of the Universe, despite all their failures as not only investors but also as normal functioning members of society. Pretty amazing they do still exist.

I don't know if you ever watched Deadwood (if you didn't I'd recommend it) but it was the verbal equivalent of the big fight at the end of the second series. Brutal stuff. Every time I crawled out of the ring he dragged me back in to give him another pasting. That dude is nearly as crazy as Melly.

A small word of advice to all on here.
You will note that I essentially always talk over Menelaus and not to him.
I find that in talking about him in the 3rd person helps enormously in taking his posts as merely personal points of views, being expressed by just one of many so-called pundits in the financial sector.
He's a good read if taken in conjunction with all other equally valid points of view, accessible in all areas of the media.
He's neither totally right nor totally wrong.
Just another person trying to find his way through a maze of contradicting facts and figures.
I just wish he would tone down the I'm God factor a bit.
Try either completely ignoring him or start posting around him.
It would be interesting to see what happens if more did what I'm doing.

Well I am happy to leave the cut and thrust of debating to you ( after all you're far better at it than me ).
I am happy to sit on the sidelines and enjoy it all.
Just hope you don't start kicking a man when he's down.
That I wouldn't like to see happen to anyone, even Menelaus for all his obnoxious character flaws.

Melenius take it easy.

Eo is just messing with ur head.

He could prove u wrong very easily. All it takes is a copy and paste job.

So let it die.

If anything eo has a right to think me and u (melenius) r the same person.

I accused him of exactly the same as wat ur accusing him off.

I can't believe I was doing that for so long. I was so sure I  was right.

And y won't u believe me melenius i have always sided with u for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure u understand this but eo does

By:

When: 16 Jul 12 11:52
Anyway the explanation is this:

carlos and I have had some right old ding dongs on the boxing forum. I could bring them up to disprove Melly that we are one and the same but where would be the fun in that? The amusing thing which carlos references is that when Melly and myself were going at it and the likes of Mr Ben et al were chipping in and giving it to Melly, Carlos thought that they were are also versions of me.

So in short. You don't exist. None of you. In fact now I think about it. How do I know I exist? I think therefore I am. Wink Or do I?

U tell me that u can take it apart, then tell me wats the point. If ur gona make that type of comment, then wats the point of saying u can u can take it apart.

It's like me saying I can win a million on ere, and prove it. Then wats the point.
carlos monzon     06 Dec 11 19:09
I trained at the very same gym sugar boy malinga trained at when he fought eubank and benn. I spent quite along time watching mcracken, woodall, wally swift spar for over a month. I never missed a day.

Malinga, mcracken, paddy lynch had some very very interesting points even at that time. Somethings I couldn't understand at the time which I understand totaly right now.

And yes of course ino wat ur gona say u dnt believe me and it's all bull. Is that right. Ok cool. Put ur money where ur mouth is.

I'm willing to meet u and provide proper proof of benn sparing malinga, eubank, wally swift, woodall and a few other amatuars at Birmingham city abc. And u can see me on the ring apron watching.

Do u wana meet up at a boxing show with a few regulars on the forum. Then I'll put this subject beyond doubt.

Make it worth my while. Let's have a 2k wager on it. If u want more I'm up for it. I won't accept anything under £1500 bet. As it's not realy worth it for me.

And the regular users on this forum I class as duke, owl, sj, toby, ecarli.

Just bet me 2k and I'll pay the other guys £100 expences for there troubles
carlos monzon     06 Dec 11 19:13
Oh yeh the meeting can take place at a dinner show. Not at a pro show where there is no tables.

U can choose a high profile amatuar show, say the aba finals, schoolboy finals, aba finals or nabc finals.

Take ur pick mate
carlos monzon     06 Dec 11 19:24
I have at least 7 sparing sessions of benn vs henry Wharton and benn v lou gent.

Benn couldn't even win a round  v henry Wharton and had wars with lou gent. I'll bring that to the table.

There is noway in the world benn could have outpointed henry Wharton if u watch the sparring. And it wasn't a unfit benn, they were weeks and Days before some of his early fights. Time and dates on videos.
carlos monzon     06 Dec 11 19:33
U think it's good that the ref allowed him to hit him in the back of the head all night.

U think it's ok that benn was given a long time to recover, unfairly.

U think it's ok that the guys in this state, worrying about pennies.

U think it's ok.   Look at the direll fight, froch hit direll with 7or 8 punches in the back of the head and no1 cared. It's f00kin dangerous u t wat, regardless of who u want to win.

Of course direll was holding and running a bit too much for my liking but u CANNOT allow punching in the back of the head. Deduct points, disq direll, but do not alow punches to the back of the head.

And it wasn't a question tobes.  He was telling me summit.

He was telling me summit that has nothing to do with the subject i was talking about.

Henry Wharton loses to fidel Castro.

It's like me telling u benn lost 3 amatuar contests.

And wat.

Totaly insane responce
Eeternaloptimist     07 Dec 11 02:23
Well you asked for it and you are going to get it. Again:

How on earth can a man who is out on his feet in aba final and a number of his early fights suddenly come up with endless stamina.

Two points immediately spring to mind. A generic one and one specifically relating to Benn. The first question is like asking how can someone run a marathon in three hours and then a year later run it half an hour quicker. He must be on something right? WRONG. It is called training. Something which people can do to address deficiencies in most areas.

Specifically relating to Benn he started his pro career as an out and out banger. He wanted to take your head off with every single shot and with most of his opponents it worked and he simply didn't need to build his stamina up. Then he ran into Watson and that fight showed him that he couldn't simply march through people who were at or near world class. It was no coincidence that in his very next fight he reined it back to make sure he got the rounds under his belt and this was the first time he had even been longer than 7 rounds as he went 10 rounds. But the bottom line is that when Benn went to war he remained suspect in the stamina department. Exhaustion finished him off in the first Eubank fight and had McClellan not likely been suffering with cerebral bleeding he would probably also have finished off the exhausted Benn in round 8.

So that is 1 down.
Eeternaloptimist     07 Dec 11 02:55
Look at Benns eyes against mcellen. That wasn't normal for him. The guy became superhuman that night. Wen mcellen hits u, u stay hit.

The man was possessed that night, his chin was unreal, his stamina was excellent and the man was relentless.

Y on earth was he knocked out with a jab vs Watson. And it was only the 6th. Strange heyyyyy.

Lets start with the last one first here and I'll start with a simple question. If you push a man to his very limit and he is completely exhausted and then you hit him with the same force as you would if he was fresh which punch would be more likely to trouble him? The fact is that Benn thought that if he hit Watson hard enough he would go and when that didn't happen he just kept on doing it. Watson had a simple but effective game plan. He help an open glove up over his face so that Benn's punches were cushioned and he waited for Benn to punch himself out. Is that a term you are familiar with? I wonder? Such a man is then very vulnerable to any punch. You can push such a man over.

Benn's chin wasn't unreal that night. McClellan knocked the motherfrucker through the ropes and when he got back up after being given a 20 count he looked like he might limbo dance. What happened that night is very similar to what happened to Benn against Watson. Benn was facing a man who in the previous few years had carried all before him. In four years and numerous bouts he had fought a total of 19 rounds. The furthest he had been in that time was 5 rounds. He was smoking mothefruckers in their boots and that is what he was going to do to Benn. The point is though that he had been doing it at middleweight, this was his first fight at super middle and such was his disdain for Benn's strength as a fighter who had been fighting at 168 for years that McClellan came in at 165. There was never any evidence that G Man could or would do it at the higher weight until he actually did it. Look at how McClellan reacted when the ref allowed the fight to continue. From being someone who pre fight wanted to kill his man he was now imploring the ref to stop the fight because he had already put so much effort into his assault and the tank was running low.

The other things were characteristics which Benn often displayed. He was always relentless. As I have shown sometimes too much so. It wasn't a case of being possessed. He was all but down and out in the first round and McClellan simply underestimated Benn, virtually punched himself out, missed a lot and wasn't prepared for a long fight. Benn's comment post fight is very pertinent, "they brought him over here to beat me up". A proud man was fuelled by raw anger at the effrontery of people dismissing him so easily and when he actually got through the sticky patch he was always going to give it his all. Which didn't stop him being exhausted and nearly out in round 8.
Eeternaloptimist     07 Dec 11 03:06
I mean look at the interview straight after the fight. He wanted to have a go at anybody, even harry who helped him get through the ropes.

How on earth can u have so much agression in u after uv had a fight like that. Ok the adrellenian is pumping whilst the fight is going on. But 10 minutes later his still going crazy.

Guy fought with 2 broken hands v doug dwit as well.

This guy was on flo jo drugs

I don't recall Flo Jo ever mugging the track side interviewer. Benn was overtaken by the moment. He had come through a life or death struggle in which nearly everybody had written him off and he had thousands of people screaming his name and he was buzzing. Different people react differently. Ali beat Frazier in Manilla and nearly fell asleep in his soup at the post fight banquet in his honour. The man who was stopped boogied the night away regaling a crowd ssinging with his band.

Lets look at this using a process of logic. We all agree that steroids are obviously a problem in the sport. What you are suggesting is that they turned Benn into a homicidal freak who would have carried on fighting all night and chasing the security guards out of the arena. Well okay. If that is the case then clearly this would be the case for all those other guys on the juice. They would be eating microphones and dry humping the legs of the interviewers left, right and centre. Generally that doesn't happen. The fact that it was an isolated incident with Benn suggests that it is either something peculiar to the man or to the occasion and not the roids.
Eeternaloptimist     07 Dec 11 03:12
Y did he put this down to hypnosis. Y hasn't any other fighter since put so much emphasis on it.

It was all Collins went on about in his fight against Eubank and it really spooked Eubank out.
Eeternaloptimist     07 Dec 11 03:13

By the way Glenn Catley trained at our gym, wen Neville seen that he ran off
carlos monzon     07 Dec 11 17:07
I'm so sowi I offended u.

Yeh Neville did train at our gym, but like I said wen he saw Glenn cately he did a runner. He ran so fast he broke bolts record and I timed it as I was there and the distance was exactly 100 meters as I also measured it.

I think he ran 9.54.

I told him he should get into the blocks and become a sprinter but he said he needed glenn cately instead of the blocks so he could maximise his sprinting  ability.

All in attendance thought he was on roids.

By the way mate I'm going down the gym right now as iv heard Bruce lee is down there teaching wyn chun. Mike Tyson,  evander holyfeild, mayweather r all down there taking lessons. U should pop down.

By the way false teeth man, the gym where u watched  Neville brown train, did u ever see lennox lewis train there, i'll tell u he is one hell of a nice bloke and he used to live near me at one point. It was out of him and Briggs who went to the olympics. He used to do a lot of circuit training at one stage in my gym and then started working for hbo as a commentator. And his still fit as a fiddle.

Ur learning mate. Now u defo dnt sound like eo.

Off to the gym now to see jack johnsson in training.

neilwarnocksfalseteeth     07 Dec 11 18:45
i would hardly call neville brown world class! one or two pros from burton on trent used to come in after the circuit for mainly pad work.It was in the small gym in David Lloyds,-not the big names that you are mentioning but for a normal bloke that likes boxing it was good to watch! I may not be as knowledgable as some of the people on here but iv been watching it for over 40 years and i think i could hold my own in a decent conversation. You got me mixed up with the other bloke and now you are resorting to sarcasm, well like i said go and **** yourself and hurry up,- you might be late to hold the spit bucket

carlos

How about you address the issues I raised? I told you I would rebut your bullshiit line by line and I did. Now either be a gentleman and accept that you may have called it wrong or come back blazing and I'll put you back in your box.
Eeternaloptimist     08 Dec 11 00:39
falseteeth

I don't recall you ever posting on politics. Of course if carlos had any evidence you had done he would be jumping up and down about it. Obviously he made an error again and wants it to be dropped.
neilwarnocksfalseteeth     08 Dec 11 14:58
(But starting threads and making insulting comments  to some1 who hasn't insulted u is plain and  simple wrong). Posted this morning! sounds a bit like do as i say not what i do eh?
Eeternaloptimist     08 Dec 11 17:13
To be fair to carlos he insulted you because he thought you were me and we have given each other plenty of stick so I'm not too bothered what he wants to call me. It helps that he is clearly barking bad.

@ the all fluff and no substance chap

Feck man, I'll have to give you your props, you made a whole bunch of nonsense almost sound like you knew what you were talking about there.

I'm on my way to Zurich for a brief meeting and back. In the meantime, here's your open book test/assignment, to help you understand that economics is a science not a romance novel.

POST the empirical evidence that supports your statements and it's source. If you don't know which statements among all the fluff you posted I mean, let me be precise. Explain exactly WHAT data they looked at (post the numbers or charts and where they came from) that convinced them that recovery was taking hold. Surely they didn't just deduce that or pull it out of their a$$. Then again, perhaps they did

I'll be back later to mark your paper.

P.S. Please stop the carlos charade. I enjoy slapping you on the face with a dead fish, because you're so stupid. But when you become so pathetic it makes me feel guilty.

Had to copy and paste after that 1

I dnt know wat it is but people tend to agree with eo for some reason, rightly or wrongly, weather they understand it or dnt. But they seem to agree regardless.

I just had to prove to u I'm not eo.

It's simply because i'm a straight up geza. Eo could have done the same but obviously his just messing with ur head.

Dnt take it so personal mate.

U make some cracking statements which r a joy to read.

Then u make the most stupid comment like gold won't go over $2000 dollars by the end of the year. Come on mate, ease up. Gold was like $1800 a couple of months ago so u can't say never can u. Especialy with all the uncertainty surrounding Europe etc etc

I may not know about the gold Market like u know it, but my opinion is it's gotta a very good chance to exceed 2k.

However I'd say gold is 1/4 to remain below 2k and 4/1 for it to exceed.

Prety sure it will be close to 2k come January. How close, within 300$ of2k I'd say

Guess who put up the most posts on here the last few weeks?

If you said the clueless mugs who went from being more interested in upper cuts, jabs, crosses and hooks, and having never posted on here before, to the clueless mugs who are now all of a sudden more interested in interest rates, quantitative easing, money supply, money velocity and inflation you'd be right. And they showed up on here at the same time. And the more they post, the more the gibberish vanishes, and the use of english and the questions asked are remarkably the same (except since I pointed it out, it seems carlos went back to ape sh1t crazy again).

What an amazing coincidence. Where can I lay those odds?

No one said you didn't co-exist on the forum for the intellectually challenged…..eeeer…..sorry, I meant the boxing forum.

No one said you weren't pulling the same sh1t over there. No one said the charade didn't include "ding dongs" on the boxing forum to complete the act.

The pattern you followed was identical when you first both appeared on here, only to become bosom buddies a handful of posts later.

What I am saying is that you tried to pull this pathetic rubbish on this forum and got called on it. Posters on here, ones with a functioning brain, (which is just about everyone except benny the clown) know that, it's just that some of them decided to embrace hypocrisy to comfort themselves from all the beatings they've suffered on here. You'll know who they are in a minute when the try to "drown" this post with their usual drivel as soon as it appears.

To be fair though, instead of one sick mind behind this charade, there could be two sick minds behind it. It's possible that you are twin brothers with the same sociopathic tendencies, suffering from the same small-pecker syndrome, desperately trying to boost your identical worthless self-esteem. It's very unlikely, the twin brother part, but I admit possible.

You are a pathetic sick feck. The only thing worse is an exposed pathetic sick feck.

I think you've got him very confused EO.
Twisting away like good old Chubby Checker.
Must be really doing his concentration in at work though.
I sure hope he isn't taking his eye off the ball there, you know advising his clients on how to get their accounts in order for the imminent end of the world.
Pressure, pressure.
Well I'm off for a sunny little swim now. Toodle pip.
