are orogen gold the same firm as medavinci PLC?? currently trading aat a little over a penny?

Interesting article:

By:
Yes Orogen gold did a reverse takeover of medavinci a couple of months ago. I think anything just over 1p is an excellent price to get in on this share, and see very little downside at current prices. If they find any, even half decent, amounts of gold then it will be trading way above this price. The management said they were very lucky to get the license to this mine, there is potentially quite a lot of gold still down there - the license area is 62km^2 in size and it wasn't properly explored the first time mining was done there.

cheers whippet, think i'll have a little dabble on those, it's been a while since i've bought any shares.

There's another one I'm researching right now - Ortac resources. The situation is almost identical to Orogen. The bonus however, is they actually have a JORC compliant resource base of 1.1 million ounces of gold already. Ok, it has double the market cap (£37 mill), but has got to be ridiculously undervalued as well.

By:
just having a look at the ortac website now. Are these shares not allowed in an stocks & share isa as my h-l account won't allow that?
![]() |
By:
yeh unfortunately most AIM shares you can't put in an ISA, there are occasionally some which are dual listed which you can, but they are few and far between. CAD is definitely ISAable though so would recommend putting that one in.
One way to get around it is to spread bet them instead, you won't pay CGT on any profits made doing that. Obviously some pros and cons doing that - the spread is slighty higher, plus if you plan to hold long term then you will have to rollover your position a few times (thus incurring part of the spread each time). The pros are no CGT to pay, and you can use leverage if you so wish. Depends what your risk profile is really, personally though I often use a 25% margin on spread bets. ![]() |

cheers, i'll take a look into that

Bit of a dip yesterday for cadogan. I wonder was it because of this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-13053040 . US reports as well....the cynic in me wonders.
By:
Like most such reports, is probably financially motivated, the scientists behind the report are probably being bapid off by the coal industry leaders or similar
![]() Bouncing back nicely this am up 11% atm. |

By:
ive invested in this but also a coal miner as a back up!!

missed the move in CAD but on board with EnCore Oil(EO.) @ 110p---lots of rumours of imminent t/over---good press y/day

Good news from CAD today RE the farm out with ENI. Good to see a management that knows what it's doing. Nice to see another company values some of our resources as highly as we do. There was a slight bit of negative news RE the payment owing from GPS as well. On the bright side, we still own the legal rights to those plants until the payment is made in full. Not really sure why the price dropped based on this news, but shouldn't really matter either way if you are holding long term as should be well over £1 in the medium term.
By:
Certainly sounds like more positive than negative with the two news releases. Mid June could be crunch time? Is that when the shares could take off?
By:
There will be other news at the end of this month - End year results and a drilling update. Should see a steady rise from now on. Might possibly get a better entry price than current, but could just as easily kick on from here, so for the sake of a few p, makes sense to get on board or add to your position, and keep them safe until its somewhere in the £1+ range

Still holding CAD. Just wondering if any of you had any views of Gulf Keystone (GKP). Very positive reserves story but various political/legal complications holding the price back.

sold my holding today at 51p, think there might be a fall before the drilling update
By:
What to make of today's news?
No dividend (expected?), plus the other news item. |
By:
Anyone digested the accounts from this am?
Double dutch to me. Seems like they are in a much stronger position than last year so why the fall in share price again? |
By:
doesn't really say anything that wasn't already known lol. Back in profit now which is a good thing. I don't think there will be a huge amount of movement until the eni deal is finalised in june. I guess there has been a bit of a drop as people think they can move their money to whatever the latest hot stock is and then get back in here in a couple of months. I'm just taking this as an opportunity to add to my position.
By:
think 60p will be the tops for this one, will get out there.
By:
And what are you basing that on exactly?
I can't imagine for a second you have actually done any sort of calculation. ![]() There are various conservative broker estimates of 115p floating around, so if you know something they don't, please enlighten us. ![]() ![]() |
By:
I have done many calculations upon my purchase price, thats all hat I need to base my opinions on, what I meanyt is that as the 50p has held I feel onceit hits 60p it will stay there for a while so that is my exit point.

By:
Any reason why CAD is falling through the floor?
Insiders knowing the results of drilling tests? |
By:
look at the AIM market generally--nearly all oil & gas shares well down, thanks to Mr Osbournes NSO Tax & some over expectancy drilling reports(or lack of)--im a holder of xcite, encore & sound oil--hasnt been a good week tbh, although there was a small amount of short covering which helped today......
By:
Would think drop in oil prices has a lot to do with the recent fall.
By:
There aren't any impending drilling results as far as I can tell. The Pokrovska 1 drill (which was stopped due to bad weather) is now part of the ENI deal, so I assume they will be the ones completing that. As that deal hasn't been signed off yet, I'm not sure what work if any will have been started on it.
By:
Phil posted above about bailing before the drilling update, never checked any reports to see what was due.
Get driving your cars chaps, even for short trips, every little helps :) |

Time to get stuck in again, one of the directors bought another 40k worth follow his spending spree a couple of weeks back. Wouldn't be doing this if he thought they were going to bomb any further....

![]() Global Process System Inc ("GPS") Settlement Further to the announcement made on 16 June 2011 at the Annual General Meeting concerning the GPS Settlement , information received subsequently (16 June 2011) from GPS has indicated that a payment will not now be voluntarily made by them prior to the sale of the gas plants. Cadogan continues to retain legal title to the gas plants during the sale process and will obtain a further valuation shortly, so that the Board can accurately assess whether any impairment to their value is necessary in the Half Yearly Report. Although Cadogan may continue to allow GPS to market the plants as per the settlement agreement, the Company will also commence efforts to market the plants directly to end users and will enforce its rights under the agreement for any shortfall, against the $30 million currently outstanding under the settlement agreement. GPS are currently following up several opportunities for near term requirements for gas processing facilities with similar specifications to Cadogan's gas plants. The Board remains optimistic that payment in respect of its rights against GPS will be received in 2011. |
