if she isn't intimidated it will be a total 50/50

I don't think intimidated but the power might be too much.

Iva moves better than Saba

I am getting Sharapova vibes, and she was never intimidated. Well apart from by Serena after she had lost about 10 in a row against her.

gives off the air of supreme confidence in herself and her game. really impressive

I'm no ATP expert but 1.6x on De Minaur to beat Bublik seems a bit short? I would have thought this was closer than that with De Minaur being a 1.9 shot because of the home advantage. Bublik isn't a clown player these days..

By:
Coco Vs Muchova time, this is going to be very interesting
|
|
By:
it was something like 1.12 when Bublik beat him at the French Open last year (his run there is what put him on the map) and Bublik has also won the only meeting between the two after that.
That being said I think current odds on De Minaur is about right (I would have him at 1.7 rather than the current 1.65) and that Bublik will need to get this done in 3 or 4 to win. |

These two had several tussles in 2025 when Medvedev was in mug mode. Think this improved 2026 version of Medvedev wins this rather convincingly.

Keys and Pegula are recording a podcast interview today the day before their R4 match at a Slam.

a bit annoying that Tien/Medvedev and Bublik/De Minaur are clashing.

where's the delete posts option?

Against most people I would have faith in Daniil to turn around a 0-2 score if he just finds his game, but doing so against Tien who makes things so physical is going to be harder than against most other players.
Daniil bageled for the 1st time ever in a Slam. |

definitely didn't see this coming, what a beatdown

ATP not delivering today

That was shocking, his presser will be interesting
When the ATP fails the WTA will lift and vica versa Thankfully it's Svito Vs Mirra time ! Though time is a strange concept after the amount of sleep and daylight obtained this week ! |

Initially taken on Mirra 1.38

1.7x Svito very premature

Tennis fans still booing non handshakes in 2026
![]() ![]() |

Plenty believe politics and sport should be kept apart and will always believe it
|
|
By:
Booing Mirra very daft
|
|
By:
in the US during the 2022 season, they had to put up a sign saying there would not be a post match handshake and to respect this decision. That was actually enough to clue spectators in and respect this. You'd think in 2026 spectators would be aware of this policy by now and no such reminders would be needed, but clearly not. Those boos were because people in the audience thought Mirra was being stroppy after a loss.
|
|
By:
Of course. But so many spectators don't follow tennis so are clueless as to the set up
|
|
By:
yeah I know
Maybe time to put back the sign. "We thought you Australians living in 2026 were smarter and more clued in than the people of the US back in 2002, but since you are clearly not please read the following message and respect both players (followed by said message)". |
|
By:
That would be a confusing sign. They'd assume Agassi hadn't shaken Pete's hand

By:
ffs I always mess up 2002 and 2022

By:
Svitolina should be disqualified from the tournament for refusing to shake her hand with Mirra being reinstated with immediate effect on grounds of poor sportsmanship from Elina.
|
|
By:
Only just seen that Djokovic has a walkover into the quarters, the sort of luck needed to conserve as much energy as possible if he think he can actually beat Sinner in his half of the draw.
|
|
By:
I was just looking to put together an acca for some side interest and when looking at Mertens run so far as I've only seen one of her matches, I honestly don't think I've ever seen a someone beat 3 absolute mugs in the first three rounds, players ranked #131, #88, #126 with career best #47. Usually there's one half decent player for a top 24 seed to play before they reach the 4th round.
Hans and Fritz to beat Lorenzo Ben Shelter to beat Ruud Awakening Maddison Florida Keys to beat Peculiar Pegula Xiaowangmei Over 7.5 games Inglis not quite Hingis Over 4.5 games Odds: 24.15 |
|
By:
I'll have to stand up for Bartunkova on edy's behalf here being called an 'absolute mug'
![]() All four of the young Czechs (Valentova, Noskova, Fruity and Bartunkova the four of whom I have now christened the 'Prague pack') struggled with the conditions. One thing I noticed about Bartunkova's two big scalp wins here. She really connects with the crowd. They love her style of play. She probably won't reach Less Rich Emma and Alex Eala level popularity but she'll be a popular draw |

My previous mugtiple would have gone quite well if Vicky won one more game as the Coco and Demon wins came in.
I'll try another as mes has opposed the Illusionist Shelton and Ruud both to win a set Musetti wins and both players win a set Pegula wins Rybakina wins minus 4.5 game handicap Between 10-1 and 11-1 |
