40-0 to broken. ridiculous and as i said this is supposed to be the pinnacle of the sport.
By:
if this carries on itll be iga with the meltdown ala the eala match. terrible to get broken from 40-0
By:
this is like watching saba yesterday. no idea where igas shots are going to go
By:
this could unravel quickly. impossible to trust iga
By:
iga must hold here. otherwise this could turn around very quickly
By:
no idea who wins this tournament now. they all look useless at times
By:
Is Bencic going to be the first mother to win a slam since Clijsters? excluding Serena who was 9 week up the duff when she won her last slam
By:
wouldnt have thought so but really who knows. they all look vulnerable to me
By:
samsonova should have won that but she didnt use the shared brain cell even though it was available
By:
didn't like Andreeva doing all that pretend cheering and supporting for her coach in that senior matches, she should have been practicing, tells me she's not a serious player, more interested in being a social media star
By:
agree mes. wasnt a good luck
By:
look
By:
Iga blitzing this tournament as if she's playing on clay, though she's beaten a lot of grass court mugs, Samsonova aside, shaping up for a Saba v Iga final, the real Number 1 and 2 in the world
By:
why do tennis players always have to be super happy or super excited when they win. What's wrong with just saying you're delighted or very happy?
By:
saba v iga on grass could be an absolute mugfest
By:
exactly des. its becoming the new 'literally'
By:
By:
Bencic vs Amanda final would be interesting optics. Two players that walked away from the tour for different reasons coming back after a break and reaching new levels at a slam.
By:
I like both but anything not involving Iga or Aryna would be a Cilic vs Nishikori type of final, like we had here last year in BK vs Paolini.
By:
Andreeva for me is not aggressive enough ,plays too many mamby pamby shots .She is young should be smacking that forehand ,save the sliced forehand for when you're 37.
By:
Is Shelton worth a few quid at 4's? If Sinner has a lacklustre start must be a decent chance of a trade.
By:
By:
I'm thinking Jannik will probably get this done in four. He's won 14 sets in a row against Ben (including three at Wimbledon last year) but Shelton is worthy of breaking that sequence with a single set here. Assuming the arm is okay Jannik's going to be pretty well rested, different if he's had to slog three sets back against Grigor.

Bencic starts hyper-ventilating when serving for the match.

By:

By:
Bencic used to put so much pressure on hereself to meet expectations. I thought her time out would give her more perspective but she's so stressed here.

Ginny Wade used to drive me nuts with her sooooooo great etc, ‘so’ has now been replaced by ‘super’
By:
Btw I'm super excited to be here posting today

oh well looks like Mirra is sliding out of the tournament
By:

By:
Belinda with hurting abs might get through in 2 after all.
By:
wow Belinda!
By:
I think the camera-men should give us more shots of smiling, happy posh people.

Bencic through
Next up for her, the mighty Iga ![]() |
By:
Rus still on for the wooden spoon! Even favorite to win it.
By:
I'm sure Mirra will come through in the end, but this is now two QF's in a row she has lost as a fave.
By:
This talk of multiple slams for Andreeva ,I can't see it .Got some decent shots ,serve ,backhand ,volley ,but forehand needs to go back to the drawing board ,terrible .
By:
okay, no sign of Sinner's arm falling of as yet. Long way to go, though.
By:
She needs a better coach, Conchita looks more like a friend
