I can be cynical about retirements but I feel for Badosa there. She looked so happy and excited after her physiology held up well in her first two matches and just looked frustrated as hell there.

worst gimmick since Bundesliga strong.
You forgot about Erika day! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Erika Day is top 5.

It doesn't bode well for Paula if her back gives in even on the grass.
By:
commentators were trying to say it was an ankle problem today

By:
Leylah out! Fought back hard in the second set but to no avail.

If Boulter wins the title for three years in a row she should be nicknamed the Sheriff of Nottingham!
I still think Linda N is the likeliest winner though as she seems to have hit a tiny oasis of form and she'll want this as she's struggled to follow up winning her first tour title last year. |
By:
Shame Mayar Sherif is no good on grass as it would fit better for her.
(I do know the reference btw, should be good knowledge incase I ever feel the need to take a British citizenship test). |

Might be time to sell my stocks in Meta though.

I predict a win for Rybakina today. Sabalenka has an awful record in Berlin and I was not impressed with her previous match. Ryba more used to the grass at this stage and undefeated when not playing slicing servebots.

Maybe New York. She used to excel in tournaments where she had fond memories. Assuming the coaching setup isn't going to dramatically change then her best chance is probably a really good draw, build belief from a solid first week in a slam. She's had some grim draws since 2021.
By:
Is this going to be yet another Boulter comeback in Nottingham? After capitulation in the first set she's in charge of set 2
By:
Rybakina couldn't consolidate her break advantage in set 1, doing better in set 2.
Point for a double break here |
By:
She'd won 12 Nottingham games in a row but it was unlucky 13 for KT Boulta
She got into a winning posittion twice in that final set but a bit too loose |
By:
Third set, six games all six points all in this fake big 3 blockbuster!
By:
By:
Unlucky Caramba. Rybakina got into a winning position several times.
She's not without chances at Wimbledon though if she can take her chances. If she was to win she would exactly match Kvitova's slam achievements ie two Wimbledons exactly three years apart. |

By:
Market adjusted midmatch so in that sense I had it right, but yeah it's the end result that counts.
By:
that was so classic WTA. 6-2 up in the tiebreak and loses the next 6 points in a row

By:
how many games for Aryna against Super Marketa tomorrow?
By:
If you're going to choke a four matchpoint lead, best to do it here and not Wimbledon
By:
Linda N very comfortable on grass
By:
Amanda rightfully 4-0 down, truly awful. She's just warming up though
By:
Rybakina doesn't move well enough to win consistently on the grass. she's wooden
By:
give smiling Amanda a break, Jm. she needs to rest up for SW19 not play herself into a back injury
By:
glad to see she's not on the Bad Hamburg entry list next week
By:
I was gonna say Bad Hamburg main draw starts tomorrow, but it's actually qualifying. Lots of big names though, Ashlyn Krueger, Vika, Olga, Sorana, Ajla, big Kudermetova, Siniakova.

Samsonova bakery attempting to serve double breadsticks!
By:
they're not Frech, but Amanda might take two anyway.
By:
She did! Enjoy your stale breadsticks Amanda

On a day where the biggest hurdles (Tauson, Leylah, Boulter) all crashed out, Linda N's task was to navigate a straightforward path past Sramkova and be in a great position
She's making hard work of it though. |
By:
Oh dear
By:
Break back points. Take them!
By:
noskova another mug favourite that cant hold on to a lead
By:
1bp to save cant do it. 2 chances to break back cant do it. absolute mug and thoroughly deserves to lose
By:
probably wont even put sramkova through having to serve for it
By:
She's never going to have a more favourable chance to add a badly needed second tour title outside of Prague
By:
deuce from 40-30. not holding in a million years so thats gsm
