José Morgado @josemorgado
2023 champion Carlos Alcaraz defeats a very good Jaume Munar 6-4, 6-7(7), 7-5 in 3h22 to reach the QFs at the Queen's Club for the 2nd time. From 2-4 down in the 3rd. EPIC! 26-3 career W-L record on grass (over 89%) 15 consecutive wins -- BIGGEST winning streak of his career. this is some proper fangirling. |

By:
thats exactly what i was on about earlier when i said commentators all over him for the quick start in the third
By:
id love some honesty in these interviews like we got from saba. when carlos was asked how he managed to get the win, rather than say i dont know be honest and say that munar shat his pants at the thought of a big win
By:
and thats how i won. my oppo choked and choked hard

2023 champion Carlos Alcaraz defeats Jaume Munar in a proper mugfest 6-4, 6-7(7), 7-5 in 3h22 to reach the QFs at the Queen's Club.
From 2-4 down in the 3rd at which point he stopped mugging for most parts. Has now won 15 matches in a row after playing well late in the clay season to make up for all his mugging earlier in the year. is how I would have put it. |
By:
yes caramba. thats much better
By:
move over jose morgado. who must have splinters by the way from all the fences he sits on when hasnt got his tongue jammed up carlos's arse
By:
now sinner is mugging. heading to a decider against bublik
By:
and its the usual story. sinner cant take any of four bps that would have put him a set and a break ahead which would pretty much be the win and can only save two out of three himself as bublik goes a break up. and that's the tale of the second set and so the question now is the same one about carlos. is he interested in winning
By:
stats are not good for sinner. barely winning a point on second serve
By:
bublik having no trouble on either serve
By:
Lukas Rosol made it very quickly from Berlin to Saale (Halle).
By:
just insane stuff against Sinner.

![]() That's why they called him 'Robocop' |
By:
Rosol never used to do that.
By:
the underarm 2nd serve.
By:
it's rare to see Sinner this stressed.
By:
combination of the surface and the opponent of course.
By:
so many errors from him.
By:
constantly getting in trouble on serve.
By:
he's throwing bombs at Bublik and still getting bullets back.
By:
bye bye jannik. blew a two set lead against carlos last time out, now going to blow a set lead in the very next match. neither sinner or carlos are fit to lace federer, nadal and djokos boots
By:
Boom! It's Lukas Rosol day!
By:
this is an appalling result for sinner. might as well not have bothered with this tournament if hes losing this early. and he is. no chance he recovers the break hes been terrible since he couldnt take one of the four breaks points in the last set
By:
tbf anyones confidence in holding on to a lead and winning a match against anybody would be shot to pieces after what sinner did in the fo final
By:
bublik mugging him right off now. lets sinner back in from 40-0 then wins the game from deuce easily
By:
sinner had bps early in the set and couldnt take them. then gets broken himself losing consecutive points from 30-15. absolutely deserves to lose
By:

That's 100% the big picture. It's what really matters. Aside from the ban his trajectory was extremely smooth throughout his hard court slam wins then suddenly he has an epic choke from an unlosable position in a slam final. How he deals with that in the next 6 to 12 months is going to absolutely sculpt the shape of the top of the game. |
By:
total rank that from sinner. needs to hide under a rock because that was about as bad as it gets. choked that match away in style to a player thats about as reliable as a chocolate teapot
By:
Today has nothing to do with the French Open final imo. He ran into Lukas Rosol on his least favorite surface. It might be an issue in future matches with Carlos, and other close big matches (usually he is too superior for them to be close) but today was about the surface and the opponent. He had a bit of the Iga's today as well in that when the opponent did good stuff it stressed him out and he made errors he usually doesn't. Eitherway, the better player on the day won. Impressive by Bublik to follow-up the run of his life with a big scalp on a completely different surface.
By:
bublik wasnt winning that without a lot of help from sinner. and he got it.
By:
one thing's for certain after today's matches and the fo final. carlos is the player to back when a match needs turning around. sinner is the atp saba a flat track bully who wins serenely when everything is going well but has no idea what to do when the chips are down
By:
Lukas Rosol back in Berlin again. Either that or Paula had a late night
By:
Paula tapped.
By:
Zverev toilet break at 40-40 in game 2. Don't think I've seen that before.
By:
Berlin doing Berlin things
By:
Marketa vs Xinyu would be a cool final
By:
Paula couldn't even break her racquet properly
