Ons had lots of practice this week already and Jasmine not that much, so that probably plays into it a little bit. this is only a 500 afterall and top 8 players don't massively care about poorly run 500s

also, Ons really needs the points whereas Jasmine won Rome and is in strong form at most 1000s and Grand Slams, so a 500 is more like a practice for her

Fritz was holding his right knee and looked like there was a slight lack of motivation/focus/energy. Big chunks done at 1.03/1.04 !

Taylor's only motivation is to eliminate Sasha Zverev from tournaments. With the two being in separate tournaments this week, there was no reason to try all that hard.

I'm trying to work out how Aryna and Coco are going to be able to leave Berlin by the end of Friday. I doubt they want to hang around there all weekend

yeah, but they could go to those yesterday night or tonight etc, there's no reason to hang around at this level of tournament when you've just been in a slam final and there's another big slam starting in 11 days or so

I'm sad there wasn't Berlin or Bad Hamburg for Sabine to play during her peak.
She did well at Birmingham and Wimbledon of course, but it would have been nice to her to shine in her home country. |
