anyone know what's up with Rybakina? is she sleeping with Vukov or something? her attitude in her press conference pre-Rome before she withdrew wasn't very good. she gave very short answers and seemed disinterested. this was different to how I've seen her in press conferences in the past where she's pretty open with her answers. I put this down to maybe her feeling under the weather with her allergies in Rome, and she did withdraw from the tournament shortly afterwards afterall. however, today after her victory over Minnen she gave a very strange press conference again, where she was mocking the journalists for asking the same questions every time. really not sure what's up with her, but there's definitely a change in her attitude...

was just gonna link that
![]() https://x.com/TheTennisLetter/status/1795471613397197192 Ben got super mad about it. |

But she doesn't make herself any favors mocking the journalists for asking boring/easy questions. Does she as an introvert really want more challenging ones?
|
|
By:
when they ask her a more detailed question she barely answers it. something changed since Madrid with her. it's really strange..

it would be typical Errani to lose the next two sets to smelly lover
|

Ben's take is off there. I think they could have asked her the most fantastic and wonderful question and she would still have hated it. I sense she doesn't want to be there and wants it over with as quick as possible

Hates the press conferences like Naomi did three years ago.
|
|
By:
it was Elena being the jackass in the press conference, not the journalists. there's only so many different types of questions they can ask. it's her attitude towards the whole thing. she didn't want to be there before they even started

The Sabalenka loss in Madrid broke her just like Sabalenka ruined Erika Andreeva's career.

it's just a drastic change in attitude/personality. something happened
|
|
By:
nothing needs to have happened. She might just have reached her limit of how many press conferences she can take.

Classic Goffin !

some of that Vukov arrogance rubbing of on Elena. this is the most logical answer
|
|
By:
but they're part of her job, so with this attitude she's fighting a fight she can't win.

it's 5 to 10 mins of smiling, answering a few questions and then off you go. I don't see what the big deal is

Rune tried to rattle Evans, and it worked to perfection

Rune vs Evans, battle of two jackasses. I knew there was gonna be drama.

Pretty impressive of Rune to be able to rattle veterans like Wawrinka and Evans.
|
|
By:
We need Rybakina to get back onto the vlog to determine for sure if she is lost.
|

By:
Prime Federer vs Rune would have been fun. Roger would have loved to put him in his place, especially after hearing about the posters.

Rybakina pre-Rome press, short answers, not interested at all.
Rybakina pre-RG press, short answers, slightly better than Rome but still not very interested. Rybakina after R1 press, very bad attitude, mocking the questions, crap short answers. 3 times in a row now. |

Bendou Zhang
@BendouZhang The ATP 250 event in Zhuhai has just been announced to be moved to Hangzhou. Hangzhou is actually the hometown of Wu Yibing. The top three Chinese men's players all have home tournaments now. (ZZZ for Shanghai Masters and Jerry Shang for China Open in Beijing) |

No player has ever wanted to do press conferences, especially after a loss, Tennis journalists are the worst in the sports world for asking either the stupidest questions going, or the most deliberately provocative questions going, some walk into the presser without even knowing what the result was and congratulating the player on their win, when they had lost.

Van De Zandschulp after losing to Fognini: "That was the worst match I have played in my life. I have been asking myself more and more lately whether I want to continue. When I get up in the morning, I no longer look forward to the matches at all..." |

I remember when the journo congratulating Nadal on his win, and he said "I lost by the way" and she replied "yeah I know but it's a win anway", luckily for her, his English isn't that good, a native English speaker would not have let that go

Nothing wrong with the questions Elena was asked today. She just hates the whole concept of pressers these days.
