I think it's time they made women's finals best of 5 like they used to do for ATP Masters finals, whilst you might still get the same outcome, at least fans in the stadium and at home get more value for money with fitness coming into it later on.

how is 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 more value for money than 6-2, 6-0? And for close matches quality would go down in set 4 and 5, so a close 3 setter would be preferable.

they would do best of 5 for the final of the WTA finals, but there was not much support amongst the players. In particular Graf was against it.

Amelie Mauresmo says on Tennis Channel they can't do the night session with an earlier start because people work late in Paris so the crowd would be empty early on. Says the potential length is why they went with only men's matches, as she's stated the last couple years. |

If I remember correctly, the ITF introduced a Dustin Brown rule a while ago that says players who have represented a country in Davis or Billie Jean King Cup can not wildly switch countries to then represent their new country at ITF country events, which the olympics probably ultimately are.
