Sinner cruising

Carlos running around like a demented duracell bunny in the heat, Sinner mixing it up and playing smarter

The real winner today is the line judge on the lower end with the fancy beard.

Carlos doesn't look right today, not just missing shots but missing by big distances, there's some strapping above his hip area and the physio's been on standby, also had a whinge at the umpire for there being no ice towels after he'd asked for them.

Struggling against Jannick's consistent hard hitting and can't come up with a plan

Naomi suggested possible arm issues since he sliced some forehands.

it's one mega rich cricket bettor who loves to bet on these type of box office tennis matches. Was on the Alcaraz/Djokovic Wimbledon final last year and a select few others.

Was Alcaraz in the select others as well?

I'm not sure. I think there was one at USO, but don't recall if it was Carlos/Daniil or Djoko/Daniil.

They got very keen on Sinner mid 2nd set

I remember them being mad keen on Carlos vs Djoko, lost quite a bit taking them on last set iirc LaughCry

Commentary of this top level match on 5 Live Sports Xtra has been supplanted by a cricket match between Canada and Ireland. If 5 Live Sports Extra is publically funded by licence fee payers, I genuinely think it should be defunded or shut down, as it is not providing any kind of value for money. Sad

I think sadly cricket in UK and the World Cup is more popular than tennis (except for Wimbledon)

I like cricket too, but Canada vs Ireland rather than a match between the two best tennis players in the World? Come on BBC! Get a grip! ShockedAngry

there should still be some common sense applied. Fair enough if England gets priority over tennis, but in no world should cricket minnows like Canada and Ireland get priority over a battle like Alcaraz and Sinner.

yep, tennis coverage outside of Wimbledon is virtually nil. Might help if we actually had some good players but we have Boultler as the best woman and Murray still limping from Round 1 exit  to Round 1 exit.

in Italy is it a bit like with Murray in England where, if he wins his British, if he loses he's Scottish, when Sinner wins he's Italian, when he loses...he's really German anyway
