I think for a player like Ruud it's a great advantage - he's a grinder, so uses plenty energy and saps the opponents also that way.
He will try to grind his opponent in semi and final, and this now gives him the energy to do just that. |
By:
you could be right. He's spent a lot of time on court.
By:
Yep, still no cert to beat these top players of course, but a great chance I think here - he's had plenty finals experience too.
By:
Zverev he can take. I give AZ 55 or 60 % advantage here. In the final I believe his only hope is the winner of Sinner/Alcaraz will be knackered.
By:
That semi has all the hallmarks of being brutal between Alcaraz/Sinner, so not a vain hope really - having a fairly fit Ruud to face could be the perfect storm.
By:
Best case scenario is probably Sinner to win then. I remember Alcaraz playing 3 hrs 40 mins in Barcelona in the morning, then coming back in the afternoon to win the final in straights where he was expected to run out of steam.
By:
He's also totally collapsed physically against Novak here though?
By:
I don't remember, but thought that was more mental.
By:
Maybe, but he's not immune to longer games in a tourny either IMO.
By:
Another boring QF here as expected.
By:
Stef should have focused on mixed.
By:
Jabuer at evens to take a set was the bet of the day
By:
imo, best bet was 1.26 for Alcaraz's arm not to fall off.
By:
which order do people think they will do on Sunday? Sinner/Alcaraz day session or night session?
By:
Day would make more sense since they will have more rest and if they have a 8 pm start, they could go to 2 am. But French tv might want them in the evening slot.
By:
Friday you mean with you then talking about Sinner vs. Alcaraz and seemingly two matches?
Semifinals don't have a night session. First semifinal is not before 2:30 PM, second not before 5:30 PM CEST. |
By:
And of those two slots I'd expect Alcaraz vs. Sinner to be the latter match.
By:
Provided Alcaraz gets there of course.
By:
Carlos grunting as Stef hitting it is clearly hinderance and putting him off. Poor gamesmanship from Alcaraz

By:
If I was a player I would be afraid to start an argument with the umpire here because I'd be caught on the umpire cam with weird body proportions and be a meme for the rest of the world to see.
By:
Bit of needle out here ! Think it helps Stef play his best
By:
Sadly it hasn't helped him in previous meetings.
By:
Umpire cam is dumb
By:
Vika was seething about it saying RG should prioritize getting electronic line calling over gimmicks like umpire cam.

By:
Alex De Minaur's little fan has the same type of nose as Alize Cornet.
By:
I'm surprised Cornet never had surgery
By:
We've had enough of bullying players into surgery on this phorum
![]() She probably likes her French look. |
By:
it was you who drew attention to her nose anyway

Posts from SMB above had me thinking they'd moved the semis to Sunday - prob the rain again I thought..

By:
it's been long days. I might not always be coherent.Ruud who had plenty matched in the 5.3-5.5 range when the Novak news broke are now back up at 8.2 after both Carlos and Jannik won their quarter finals with ease. (Zverev who's not even in the semis yet but is likely to await him there is 7.6). |
By:
Prices and movement seem odd - not sure how Zverev is shorter, he's struggled in his matches too so far.
By:
Problem for both the favourites is how much damage will they do to each other in that semi.
By:
I think it will be Ruud v Alcaraz final personally. So odds would be a bit shorter on Ruud at that point. Though Carlos would still be clear favourite even after a big semi match.

Novak out of Wimbledon
