I think it's all meant to be sold out. Feels like all the Parisians bought all the sessions to cover all possible Nadal slots and now that the one player they are interested in is out they can't be bothered to show up.

the woman don't have it easy in that sense. Both Alcaraz and Sinner sell out stadiums with just their tennis despite having the personality of a lamp post, but Iga can't do that cause she would also need to be hot or have a Serena type aura.

men's tennis at slams does give you more bang for your buck because it's bo5 and more explosive though, I was even reading Svitolina the other day saying she doesn't even watch women's tennis, not the first female player to say that

Coco Gauff has 7988 ranking points with four titles (1 slam, 1 1000, 1 500 and 1 250), two slam SFs, WTA Finals SF, 3 1000 SFs. That would have been enough for year end No 1 in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. This week she could still finish a distant No 3. Standards are different. Standards indeed different since the Big 3 has emerged. |
