And lets be right
She's a multi millionaire that has zero pressure to return, 99% are forced back into work because of the financial pressure. |

Barely a moment of recognition from the BBC pundits that Kerber was far superior on the day.

BBC will be harping on about great it is for Serena to return after giving birth
When its proven its not that big a deal, but they have to trot out the usual in these circumstances |
|
By:
It takes approximately 1 year for you to get to full strength after giving birth, Serena only gave birth 10 months ago. On top of that at Serena's age you'd expect a natural decline in all those things anyway which she's constantly fighting against regardless.

Pretty sure Ennis got a lot of baby hype as well. Anyway, does that make reaching the Wimbledon final less of an achievement?
And with no pressure making the final. Again, makes her worthy of all the praise she's getting. Could be sitting with her feet up eating Pringles just now. Liz McColgan ![]() |

I've known women give birth and are out running round after the dad a few hours after it
Its not big deal |
|
By:
Running is much, much different to playing tennis or any other sport. Running is virtually all endurance.
Tennis requires a lot of core strength, you lose a lot of core strength after giving birth and don't fully regain it for around a year. |
|
By:
No big deal
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Depends on the individual I suppose, but I'd say most women aren't out running a few hours after childbirth. It's not exactly a groin strain. |

Ye Gods, psychobabble about the Williams daughter now.

Serena is nearly 37 and is only playing her 4th tournament and 1st full slam since giving birth, which part of that is a very difficult thing to do do people not understand.
You would get more respect if you just stop faffing about with your posts and come out say that you're racist pricks. |

Every single slam every year is the same, the Anti Willam's sisters brigade comes out in full force, where exactly are you during the rest of the year lol, only come on where she's big news at on your TV to make a series of thinly veiled attacks on her for reasons we all really know, even when Monfils was knocked out there were a load of Anti Monfils posts suddenly
it's the same with Lewis Hamilton, successful and British yet gets a lot of abuse from British people because apparently they don't like the fact he lives in Monaco or because of his personality, nothing ever said about Jenson Button when he was a tittle winner living in Monaco. Twitter is by far and away the worst culprit as the black player will tell you. |

I see SW did an England today - goes deep in the tournament after benefiting from an extremely soft draw, then gets smashed to bits by the first decent opponent she meets

Jelena Djokovic
@JelenaRisticNDF 1h1 hour ago This amazing woman @serenawilliams has given birth to her little girl just one day before I gave birth to my girl 10 months ago. I am barely surviving to watch, and she is RUNNING and playing FINAL of a Grand Slam |

Well that didn't work.
Anyway, I'd rather take the opinions of someone who's been through childbirth on a similar timescale to Serena over the thinking of "couple of paracetamol, bit of a nap and back to work" that some seem to have. Deserves every ounce of praise. Hamilton gets abuse because he comes off as a bit of a c**t. Of course, I'm a massive Alonso fanboy so that doesn't help him in my eyes. |

I'm not saying that everyone who dislikes Hamilton is racist, but those that are, use silly things like where his home is as a stick to beat him with.

yet nothing was ever said about Button or many rich and famous sports stars that live there like Novak or Rosberg.

The entire BBC coverage of the women's singles this year was a massive tribute to Serena Williams and they were clearly devastated she got beaten. I've never seen such biased sports coverage. Hardly a day went by without them telling viewers what an inspiration she was and what an incredible achievement it was for her to be back playing at the top level so soon after child birth. Kerber hardly received any coverage in comparison. She apparently just ruined the story so they couldn't eulogise Serena more after she won.
The draw appeared to be fixed to help Serena too. The convenient 25 seeding which placed her in a very easy quarter and an incredibly easy half, with her only supposed threats being serial Slam choker Svitolina, Wozniacki, who had never made it past the 4th round at SW19, and clueless baseline basher Keys. Meanwhile, the top half was loaded with the likes of Kvitova and Muguruza (both former Wimbledon champions), recent French Open winner Halep and Kerber. Not to mention big up-and-comers like Kasatkina, Osaka and Ostapenko. You can't tell me that was mere coincidence. The fact is, Serena didn't come up against a decent player until the final. And you don't hear Azarenka going round telling everyone she is doing it for all the mums out there, and other pro female players who have left the tour to have a child and come back haven't received the same sort of coverage. The whole Serena deification by the Beeb perfectly fits its agenda to promote political correctness. |
|
By:
Are you saying the BBC fixed the Wimbledon draw
![]() |
|
By:
just a Serena hater/racist talking garbage down to the whinging about political correctness
|
|
By:
The blazer brigade, Timmy Henman & chums helped Serena out for sure. You don't want to believe it, that's fine. Please don't talk about racism. The BBC eulogizing of her was ridiculously over the top.
|
|
By:
Oh I will believe you Johnny if you can back up your rant somehow - I'm just wondering how the BBC managed to get Serena such a good draw?? I await a reasoned response
|

By:
"And you don't hear Azarenka going round telling everyone she is doing it for all the mums out there"
must admit when I heard serena say this I cringed big time |
