Serena's level has been pretty badly exposed today.

Hasn't Serena done that like 3 times today, go to hit it much harder than needed and missed.

fair or not;

@alex_macpherson
I don't think it was that easy per se - Mladenovic and Giorgi both played towards the upper end of their abilities - but it did consist mostly of hard hitters averse to long rallies, and no one who brings anything like Kerber's skillset to the court

I don't think saying it was easy is an insult. It was on easy draw.

She didn't face 1 player you'd have listed in your contender list before it started.

Kiki mostly bottled it when it mattered. Giorgi is just Giorgi, looks good when it goes in, looks awful when it doesn't. Hard to beat Serena like this with her serve being very hard to gung ho attack like Giorgi does.

That's the worse I've seen Serena in a final for a long time. This narrative of Kerber playing lights out today is ridiculous.

good job rafa and novak were there to provide some good tennis today

did she win making winners or did serena make a load of UEs trying to blast her off the court?

Is this Serena's worst Slam final showing ever? Worse than against Stosur?

truth to be told, serena had a soft draw, full of mugs, some of whom pushed her and would have beaten her if they weren't gibbering mental wrecks (yes, kiki, i'm looking at you).

I'm not saying she can't win another slam, of course she can, and a good run in, and i'd have her favourite for flushing meadows, but this draw got her nowhere near ready to play a ferocious and finely tuned carebear.

Congrats Angie.

Williams just go and hide.

She still had to be the centre of attention at the very end.
