You would see a lower standard of play with noise in crowds where it's just a frenzy the whole time. As hearing the ball is part of tennis. If you can't hear it, the standard twill go down.

Yeah but Sloane isn't just American, she's got a huge personality. For example, if Madison Keys had won last night, she wouldn't have got as much attention for winning as Sloane has gotten.

Even in America she's gonna face stiff opposition though. At these joint events you've only got like 3 spots max for WTA matches. Serena is guaranteed, Venus guaranteed, Sharapova might be guaranteed at many of them, doesn't leave space for much else, when you consider everything else they have to cover.

It also kinda depends what Sloane does in the next 6 months. Tour isn't back in USA until IW.
If Sloane does nothing between now and then, she will find it harder to get bigger courts. If she keeps winning then she will defo get big courts. |

I dunno how many followers she had on Twitter before this tournament, but Stephens only has 159k Twitter followers. I reckon she had more than 60k before USO though, if so she's gained less followers as a result than Osty did at the French.

She's an outside court sort of player, nobody is going to be queuing for Sloane's matchesm they would for the William's sisters of Sugarpova.
