Rafa wont give up? Well tell us something we don't know, he's being outplayed and out thought left right and centre.

so important nadal won that point, and as long as he stays in touch...novak will be troubled mentally. especially knowing he has had opportunities for the double break

Nadal's mistake today is he's being dictated to too often. I always think this match tends to go in favour of who is standing on the baseline, and not in favour of the guy who is doing all the scrambling. Arguably it's down to Djokovic, but I would Nadal has been to ineffective in what he's trying to do today. Nadal's much more effective vs Djokovic when he's standing on the baseline and pinging him side to side, then Djokovic is just scrambling.

This relationship is dictated by who can hit their forehand consistently deep. Rafa can't do that, hence he becomes the bitch / scrambler

Fed at his best > Djokovic at his best (this match up was always in Fed's favour)

Even this match up, it's hard to argue how much it's in Djokovic's favour when Nadal still leads the head to head and apart from 2011, Djokovic has never really dominated him, and Nadal has won way too many of the big encounters.

When Nadal is at his absolute best though he does. See the US hard court summer last year.

He can't find that level today though / he chooses not to engage that level today

Federer had the perfect way to dissect Novak. In that the one play Novak doesn't particularly like is people giving him mid court slices, it puts him out of position, and he's rarely been confident enough to come in behind it.
