My thing with Serena, every single major since her return Serena has been hammered in in the weeks leading up to it. The only upward trend was after rolling her ankle in Brisbane 2012, but she then got hammered back in when the market seemingly bought into the she was fine talk, and it turned out she wasn't. She's only actually won 2 of those 7 majors.
Serena always seems to on paper look a "train" and it has rarely turned out at that way. At Wimbledon her price was actually drifting up until around the QF's when she was struggling with Zheng and Shvedova. At USO it was a complete train until the final, and then she hit like 7s in that final. It's always tough to judge outright prices. Serena has an unpredictable element to her, she seems to have an injury scare every other major which always causes mass panic in the markets. Some of the others I find interesting. Li was 32s heading into Australia, yet is 15s here coming in with no form whatsoever. I think Errani's price is utter pish. Errani was still like 22s to win Rome when in the semi's last week. I don't really tend to get involved in outrights pre tournament though unless I think anything is outrageously priced, because I think they are tough to judge. |

i got 7s, in two matches in play,where she was ,limping all over the place, but managed to win both matches third set,i agree its a short price,pre tournament, its based purely, on the betting market.mens side ,i would not touch.

she will usually go behind or have an injury scare and trade higher, so it is a lay. but if azarenka goes out earlier than expected her price will plummet

Sharapova who described herself as bambi on ice on clay 2nd fav. Womens tennis is a laughing stock and has been for the last few years. Clijsters showed it for what it is when she came out of retirement and won the US Open. |

Sharapova used to really not be able to move on clay at all. The bambi/deer/cow on ice is quite old. She worked on it a lot and improved massively on the dirt.
