Can't fault Kevin Skinner on that. Meusburger, and the accompanying pronounciation advice, didn't make it into this year's WTA Media Guide

|
By:
Surely she'll be in next year's? |
|
By:
Yes, for sure. The pronounciation guide is very american anyway, so it might end up as Moosburger
![]() The amazing this is that Golovin is still on it As is Clijsters who retired last year. Justine too. |

I guess with the two Belgians, I can understand since a comeback is never out of the question with them, but that doesn't really explain Tatiana.

Figured this thread needed to be bumped. What was it that they called Garbine again?
|
|
By:
like 12 different things none of them Muguruza. "I will just replace any consonant leaving the U's and one variation will sound Spanish" must be what she thought then there where like 5 plays on Garbine, once she was even Karbinah and Jarbin'ye in one sentence

Barbara Schitt (perhaps from the same New Zeelander commentator). I suppose this is just the way they talk in New Zealand though, so not necessarily an error.

Wrong forum I know, but the late and great Ron Pickering's Jarmilla KratochvilOVA / KratochVILova is an appalling omission.
Personal gripe too which has been festering ever since Bjorn Borg started the craze in the late 70's. What the hell is "for sure"? Sure on its own in fine, for sure. |
