why dont those commentators listen to the chair umpire?
their ridiculous pronounciation dismantles their cluelessness about tennis.

it's mind boggling, isn't it? the wta/atp even have a youtube channel with the (I believe) correct pronounciation of every player's name.

I find it surprising that nobody from Perform / Tennis TV / whoever is able to correct them during the match. It's quite embarrassing.

Tbh its often difficult for English natives to pronounce other European words as English itself its much softer language even if u know how it sounds still difficult to copy that. For me what is annoying when English speaker can actually pronounce syllables but is to lazy to check it out. For example annoying like everybody says raduanska should say radvaniska and it would sound nearly perfect

russians pronounce Sharapova as Sha-ra-perva

where as we pronounce it, shara-po-va

people pronounce names is their language the way in which it feels natural and comfortable to them - there is nothing more weird or nauseating even when you get native english speakers pronouncing spanish words with a spanish accent, makes them look a bit of a t wat

the english btw say radWanska - not with the U.

I would have pronounced it correctly or fairly close Cool Polish names aren't too difficult once you get used to seeing how certain things are pronounced. Watching a lot of football helps because you get exposed to all sorts of names and sounds in different languages, which means you can generally pronounce a word in another language that you've never seen before fairly well.
