who is responsible for the scoreboard amd if this was an accident whats to stop this happening deliberately in future?
By:
Srichaphan or Ancic?
When: 08 Jul 08 23:12
I didnt have any potential deficit on this match, but it seems very unfair, Betfair should really void it, but I doubt they will as they do not really seem to use any common sense in these situations.

how they stop it happening is to void these type of matches its absolutely the right thing to do as noone gets ripped off or looses out

Tomozzy, maybe a stupid question, but how can you be in the minus. Did you already withdraw the winnings that were paid out Isner? And if so, you haven't be able to spend that money yet, so it cant be that bad can it?

People bet on Levine to win the match, they deserved to be paid.

No they don't, perhaps the people who bet prior to the match, but not those who bet in play.

Perhaps the people?

No perhaps about it. And if they have to be paid then Betfair have no choice really. Thats life. Betfair will pay out on Levine as they should and people will move on.

thanks alot dude!!!

whats the worst that can happen?
By:
Srichaphan or Ancic?
When: 08 Jul 08 23:19
So LucaToni, you represent approximately 1% of people who bet on this match - of course, then, you must be correct.

it's taken me the best part of two hours to read every comment in this thread and digest what's happened. i think i know who's doing this, just thinking of whether there's any point in making a fuss - will our voices be heard?

Excuse me?

I dont have a a bet on this match. But betfair will do the right thing anyway this is the chance they have been waiting for to rectify the Davydenko decision.

Betfair arent liable for a scoreboard that carried the incorrect information.

But does it mean if 99% of the people has a different opinion, they are right than?

I too have unregistered my card and closed my account. I suggest all those that feel as strongly about this as I do, do the same.

I didn't lose a huge amount (enough to** me off but not more than that) but if I cannot trust a site I cannot continue to use it.

Good luck all.

i understand those who say its my own fault

as a sore loser i bet levine prior to start of the match but then traded for a larger loss on levine when isner 2-0 up in 2nd @1.2 this was not at match point my conclusion to this is that i should not bet on in play matches without live pics as there is the possibility of losing due to fraud
By:

When: 08 Jul 08 23:27
I dont think its your fault Tom. You have been very unlucky but IMO betfair have no choice but to honour the Levine winners.

But I hope for your sake the withdraw went into your account ok. :)

By:

When: 08 Jul 08 23:47
they won't re-settle the match, and shouldn't IMO.

i wasn't affected by this match but gambling on betfair is about finding an edge, everyone betting via a scoreboard thinks they have the edge, so unfortunately only have themselves to blame and must factor such a freak occurrence into their profit margins.

betfair paid out on the right winner in the end, what happens on the SB has got nothing to do with the outcome of the match.

When: 09 Jul 08 00:05
yeah even then leefee, Betfair has thought of anything. They've added a clause in their t&c where they bear no responsibility over their own markets, they just open the market, monitor it, close it, then collect. Occasionally they're using bots to make a little extra but that's also in the rules - I guess.
