Luke will have many, many chances to go on the main list and win the award..that will count against him. Its the only chance they will ever get legitimately to leave him off.
The BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year[1] award is presented at the annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony. It is awarded to the sportsperson aged 17 or under as of 1 January of that year, who has made the most outstanding contribution to sport in that year. |
By:
Ian black won the main award as a 17 year but that was back in 1958, pretty sure its never happened since then. There is no minimum age mentioned anywhere about the main award but as they introduced young SPOTY with a max age limit it might be some unwritten rule not known by the public.
Simply put is he old enough to go on the main list ? nobody actually knows !! |
By:
You don't half post some sh1te at times
![]() ![]() 2022, Young Spoty winner was Jessica Gadirova,, She was also on the shortlist of 6 for the main award nobody actually knows !! ![]() |
By:
oh yeah well spotted
, i did actually look at her last year lol for similar reasons i recall. i'm catching you all up and going senile ![]() |
By:
He still has far more negatives, his only positives are what he's achieved.
he's so boring i just can't see how there gonna make a decent VT of him |
By:
Their vt's are 60 secs.. Him hitting 2 x 9 darters and winning the premiership will fill that
Emma's will be going round in circles and getting beaten |
By:
Both girls will smash him out the park with there VT's, dreaming as young girls about winning medals...tears, blood, sweat along the way.
the men will love the 9 darters but will they vote or expect everyone else too, most won't bother to fill out the form. Lets be honest any bloke that has a partner, she will do all there paperwork and online crap coz the bloke can't be arsed. whereas every woman watching will go out of there way to fill out the form, they love it. Being part of something, men are just not the same !! and he needs there votes to stand any chance imo |
By:
Insta is mainly aimed at females..
Emma gained 8.5 k extra Insta followers during her week in Paris Luke gained 1.4 million |
By:
oh that old chestnut, works every time and were all millionaires by following it
![]() how many more times does it have to be wrong before you stop posting crap followers ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
he has to get on the list 1st, so good luck if you have put money on him. nothing is guaranteed with the bbc, they manipulate every thing
By:
its not like they would be fecking him over either, they would be giving him an award. the young version of it and tell him to come back next year with a bit more spunk in ya interviews
By:
Its a decent gauge of popularity imo especially when the gap is humongous.
Probably better that relying on the huge Welsh vote because Glynn got 2nd in BB 20 years ago.. ![]() |
By:
he's certainly not an ideal advert for sport in general, i actually love the lad but he's massively overweight for his age and does nothing to lower it. just eats and promotes junk food.
in this pc driven world we live in now, is he the winner the bbc want to showcase to young aspiring kids not for me, thats another negative to the already long list |
By:
half the followers are fake and a large % would be from oversea's thats why we lose as much as win by following them
By:
some people are sheep and like seeing big numbers next to a name without knowing who's real or not and where they live in the world
By:
you got any more jabs my way or can i go make a coffee please
By:
You're just posting random sh1te now so im off to cut the grass.

don't forget the weed killer !!

tbh to this thread, i'm a massive Luke fan and hope he does make the list and win if the unknowns vote, he has the potential to win by miles. its just a coinflip whether he gets on or not and far to risky to have the 2k i was gonna put on him as Plan A, so i'll probably be kicking myself when he does and win lol.
my main play in this market now and will continue to be all the way is emma top 3 so good luck luke backers and to luke himself, he does deserve it for what hes achieved and done for the sport. ive nothing further to say on this topic, all my energy is for emma ![]() |
By:
U turn if you want to
By:
no mate, i can get 10/1 for 3rd for emma which i think is odds on. why on earth would i take lower about luke who has many hills to overcome lol
By:
Do both :)
By:
lol if luke does make the list i'd be happy backing him at say 2/1+ and prey men vote, that would still be massive value considering his pub popularity. and i would have the 2k on. so i will wait
By:
You'll need to be quick then
By:
nah keely will go shorter come the night imo, she will get everything thrown at her unfortunately coz everyone else on the track was so poor
By:
the bbc have no option to make it all about her coz of the popularity of athletics over everything else
By:
lets face it, she only gets beat as a very short price fav. ive accepted that as fact

The BBc aren't producing the show this year, whisper North are
As it's their first year I doubt they will want to show any obvious bias. |
By:
Aren't they producers for a lot of the darts on sky? ;-)
By:
bit of hope then for all
By:
The tender was launched in January and from the field of shortlisted tenderers, Whisper North’s bid scored highest against the published criteria. Whisper North will begin producing Sports Personality of the Year from 2024 and will work closely with BBC Sport to ensure the effective and successful delivery of the programme.

Mark Cole, Managing Director, Whisper, commented: “BBC Sports Personality of the Year brings together many of the elements Whisper love to produce and celebrate: live events, awards shows, sporting moments, superstars and entertainment.
“We celebrate sport and athletes across many productions throughout the year, so to be working with the BBC on this prestigious end of year show feels a fitting way to conclude what will be an incredible year of sporting achievement and endeavour. “With the BBC, we will be seeking to deliver a bold and ambitious show that will appeal to a wide audience, driven by compelling and entertaining story-telling. “Sport has a brilliant power to bring everyone together and impact change. To be able to celebrate that and showcase the heroes that influence and inspire so many is a privilege that we will, as usual, meet with the focus and huge ambition it deserves.” |

By:
Sounds like lukey is a cert for that shortlist then
By:

By:
funny though he keeps drifting
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
