yeah i see a campaign, i was planning one

Disclaimer, in no way did army and i collaborate on this, he didn't even reply to my pm :(
By:
lol always on classic brushy, hate other format. i do worry about her deaf card and 4 years of graft to win gold blah blah. it takes something special to beat an Olympian in there year like Murray did, but i believe he's not done something special but extraordinary an deserves the votes.
By:
i have not put 1p on him yet !!!!
By:
Hurry up then lol.
It'll be more expensive soon |
By:
The answer to your question brushy is yes, but if Emma does get that gold i believe she could beat him if the bbc go to town on all of the finer points of her rise to fame.
regardless of what happens sunday, i will be backing Luke at some point |
By:
Keely is an adlington, the default choice, failed to win, didn't really come close.
Lukey very much more like Hoy, lots of fans waiting for lines to open |
By:
What ive noticed a lot in my job, is how many more people are playing darts during the day. lots of regulars organising competitions since he appeared. he has had a mega impact on the game for sure
By:
Great chance if he makes the list, no chance of making the shortlist.
By:
Horsecrap, I'd be concerned if we had 5 golds in track and field, as it is, who else is getting nommed?
Last year's list was very populist |
By:
I'm struggling to make a list of 6, never mind 12 as they have had before in limpic years
By:
And when they turn to talk about Darts how can they get past Luke humphries.
By:
Who?
By:
There's your answer, when i saw that name on the spoty list i had to look up who it was
By:
Littler has massively grown the darts audience and has got beyond darts popularity but still his montage would be him losing finals.
By:
How could they give it to the runner up and ignore the world champ who beat him GB? Young sportsperson award more likely for Littler?
By:
dear me the ignorance here is contemptible
By:
as Christopher Ward says 'do your research'
By:
Last year's winner was a loser if you want to play out that argument
Let's remember, the shortlist is chosen by an independent panel, once they've written keely down who else is getting chosen? |
By:
its not about luke v luke and who's won what, its about what luke has achieved at such a young age...and young luke has won a lot of tournaments btw including a major.
regarding young spoty, that is always contested by kids you've never even heard of...the winner may of had a brief mention during the year. There not giving it to a worldwide mega star who has hit headlines around the world several times since his rise. no question at all over his nomination, its whether blokes will be bothered to vote for him, coz mummy votes won't be enough v Keely or Emma. |
By:
as it stands keely, luke are certs. any medal colour from emma sunday see's her in. 2 para's. thats 5 and probably a token other one like pidock if nothing else crops up till the awards
By:
Women are the biggest voters in spoty the last time they looked iirc. About 60%
By:
yes they are, but to get other women over the line lol the last 3 years. Luke is lovable though even if he does look 33.
still needs mens darts teams to secure it imo |
By:
as Christopher Ward says 'do your research'
research seems to show Luke Humphries has done quite a lot better than Littler in last year (which is this award) army. If a darts player were to be shortlisted or win, it should be Humphries - still think Littler will get Young persons award this year. |
By:
As GB says, this is now a female dominated vote - so the golden girl will be easy to vote for here, espeically as beeb will ramp her like crazy with montages - her fastest GB time this year (6th in all time world) then golden runs after, Leigh harriers, pics of her as girl etc etc...
By:
This was always my game plan regarding backing Luke, wait for games coz there was always gonna be one or two do something good to push his price out. At least we have a contest now for the rest of the year.
By:
its not black and white stu, we have this argument most years about the definition of spoty
By:
once Emma gets that gold sunday, the fav will no longer be the golden girl of the games. i'd be more worried about that if i were you. than luke right now
By:
She's something of a danger yes - though I still feel the breakthrough year of Hodge will trump (euro and olympic and time records) even a gold here from the cyclist personally.
By:
not trumping f all on a debut games beating mary rand's record imo
By:
cycling voters turn out big time for spoty, with the regional vote. emma will trouble luke.
even if the beeb don't get behind emma and push keely more, the cycling world and wales will...campaign style |
By:
As always with these award markets...we will see...I'd back Hodge to win it at anything over 1.5 prices right now (though can't because I've backed her at bigger).
By:
should be laying then and getting real value
By:
personally i think a silver for emma is guaranteed, that would equal rand's record...could be enough, who knows ? see's her stonewall for top 3. the gold see's her go really close but the race for gold will involve fractions if it goes the way for her world championship win v the german
By:
Nah, sometimes with these award types I go a lot more on my gut instinct - and she to me is just such a natural vote winner for this. Will just sit tight from here - I haven't had a massive bet, more an interest type bet at fair bit bigger than she's priced now, so will wait it out. It's a bit like an early xmas prezzie if it coins this market.
By:
Yeah, could well imagine the female voters crushed it with earps winning, likely higher than 60%. The lycras for cav obviously more male dominated. He's pretty marmite
The whole of darts would be voting for Luke, sky mams, players, Luke Humphries. It's just great for the sport, more profile, more sponsors, more money in till |
By:
well good luck stu
![]() very good points from brushy regarding darts profile, the fav is 100% false for me |
By:
GB, I'd say female voters dominate this nowadays - most traditional men's sports barely get decent coverage from SPOTY in it's modern version and most men probably ignore it - while the ladies tune in for their version of sports coverage. Personally I can't stand it as a show in modern times, but I can bet on it due to it's nature - will take more than a darts runner up to beat this golden girl IMO.
By:
She's weak, too pretty, none descript, not very high profile before the games. Kjt would have done far better. Could win, but very much there to be shot at
