The "big five" in the last 5 places rather gave it away.

Ukraine performs in slot 12, right after Netherlands in 11 and before Germany in 13. Has the orgainisers already given Ukraine the trophy or are they still beatable. Ukraines odds are now 1.39 which is the shortest odds ever on Betfair for a Eurovision runner. Russia 2016 were odds of 1.49 at the start of the final on the Saturday night and although they won the televote with 361 points they only managed to receive 130 points (5th place) with the juries and finished 3rd overall and that was with Russia in the 2nd half draw of the final.

Portugal in 2017 were slotted 11th in the running order of the final and won the televote with 376 points and the jury with 382 points to win overall with 758 points.

Will Ukraine do a Portugal 2017 and win both the jury and televote and win overall or will they do a Russia 2016 with winning the televote and finishing 5th or lowwer with the jury and not win. Which way will the juries vote will decide if Ukraine wins or not.

What are your thoughts about Ukraine winning or not?

I'm not sure the Ukraine support is as high as the market thinks. When looking online, all i see are people thinking backing Ukraine is free money OR people complaining that it's not fair. I'd expect to see loads of "I don't normally vote, but Ukraine need the win this year", but there's nothing.

Couldn't be going near Ukraine at that price. If they win good luck to them.
If you fancy something else you are getting value.
The market will readjust itself a little bit when a few other countries take the lead during the competition.

I really enjoyed last year final and spent a couple of weeks getting involved, but this year after Russia's invasion of Ukraine I'd considered the result a foregone conclusion. If Ukraine had entered a dog howling out of tune they would still win with the public vote, since they have a catchy tune they'll win hands down.

For me it's either the W/O Ukraine market, or the top 5 market. Since I've only been plugged for a few days I'll wait until Saturday evening, although currently for the W/O Ukraine market I'm inclined towards the fav - Sweden - and in the 2.92, and the top 5, I think Poland may have a squeak at 5.4, especially with their running order.

For the top 10 I had liked Czech Republic, but their first up on final's night, and although first up can hit the first 10 it's rather dampened my enthusiasm.

Lifter - all the "I don't normally vote, but Ukraine need the win this year" brigade don't spend most of their time online discussing Eurovision, but will tune in Saturday and many if not most will hear the songs for the first time, and the Ukrainian flags on the stage is all the prompting they need. What's happening there is beyond   a tragedy, but they've had almost three months of hell and the sympathy for them will be overwhelming.

True, I don't expect to see loads of that on Eurovision boards, but I'd expect at least something on Twitter during the semi-final. There should be some sort of overlap. I don't dismiss their chances to win, but I think it's much lower than the odds suggest.
