Ukraine with another strong selection. Personally, my favorite is Cornelia for Sweden, although who knows if she wins Melodifestivalen. May back Sweden now, as it worked well with France pre-selection last year

Russia now out of particiaption due to EBU suspension.
Ukraine now in to 4's. People across Europe could well vote for Ukraine as a support for Ukraine due to Russia Invasion and if jurors from the countries juries get on board Ukraine could be placed very high and may even win but depends on high support from both public and juries. |

Anti Russia sentiments led to ESC wins in 2014 (Austria) and 2016 (Ukraine). And anti Russia sentiments is higher than ever now. I think Ukraine will do very well in televoting. But is the song good enough to get enough from the juries to win?

I was thinking Ukraine could win the public vote even before this kicked off, so they should have it in the bag now. Thing is, will their lead be enough to overcome the Jury scores? A lot of it depends on the competition. 500 total points should win, and I think they will get at least 320 from tele (267 last year). That means 180 from the juries, but last year they only scored 97.

Surely possible that they don't compete? Its seen as impractical or distasteful depending on what the situation is in May. Or that European sentiment is still one of great sympathy, but public and juries collectively decide that making them host a song contest in a year's time isn't the best way to show solidarity!
That said, they have an excellent track record at scoring in normal times and so am laying nervously at current prices and could be proved expensively wrong |

I've just logged on and i see that Ukraine is now first at 3.45 with Italy second at 4.4. I am sure that Ukraine will do very well with the public vote due to the current situation and do very well overall. Should Ukraine not be able to physically participate in May due to the current situation then the EBU could offer Ukraine the option to perform remotely from Ukraine like they offered Russia the option to participate remotely a couple or so years back or perhaps the EBU will show the live backup performance instead that all countries will be sending in case of being struck with Covid rather then allow Ukraine to withdraw due to the current situation. Whatever happens i do hope that the EBU has a back up plan to proceed with.
