Let’s not also forget that the vamps have a 4 million strong twitter following. 9 million votes in the final last year. App gives you 5 free votes. If 1/4 of vamps twitter followers vote he wins. That without any non twitter followers.

Tinchy was the standout in terms of getting votes from twitter from non show watchers ever (in my book at least)
So if you compared his twitter to his vote percentage you might be able to get a semi accurate number of what votes James might garner from his twitter following (but you would have to minus a certain percentage given he is british and would have more followers who watch the show then tinchy had) |

james had a battle with anorexia which is hitting the headlines via his bandmates
they've certainly thrown there weight behind him, hes desperately missing his girlfriend from what nick just said on itv as well. although nick wasn't very helpful after initially saying he wanted james to win (after harry and fluer) he also mentioned james wants to leave coz hes missing his girlfriend, for the sake of a few more days im sure james would rather stay to try and win. nick just being a bellend there |

One thing I will say about the polls is that I have been unable to find a decent one. Tell mix opens at the beginning of the show and stays open so if people change their mind it doesn’t show, you can maybe do checks each day and measure change but even then I don’t think the sample size is big enough. You also have to take into account who does the polls, I’m not sure myself what sort of demographic would vote in polls but I’m sure it doesn’t capture the full spectrum of voters.
The only other poll I’ve found is DS and they had Iain Lee as their winner last year. If they couldn’t predict Toff who absolutely romped it I can’t Really trust it. I think Facebook top comments and twitter usage is a better gauge but even that is flawed due to demographics. I think there’s a place for SM and polls but I wouldn’t want to rely on them solely. Need to balance it with what you see. Personally I think Harry wins by default, Em, Fleur and John are all annoying (I actually don’t find Em annoying but whatever, people do), James just hasn’t done enough so Harry wins. I don’t think it’s a landslide though, he’s no Toff. Toff has Fleur levels of coverage but was great with it. Harry last couple of weeks has been a non event, he’s riding off week 1 and he’s shown a bit of a nasty streak as well where as Toff was flawless. I think Harry is likely on 40% of the vote with 5 horses and gets to about 70% at 2 horses. I think James is capable of taking it at the line but will need some serious push to make it happen |
