I guess in a year of at least 25 slow ballads, something leftfield would crash down. Personally I think Belgium is way too cool for school to win but I really love it and it should be Top 5. This song wouldn't be out of place on Radio X or Absolute which is why it probably won't win

If I hadn't already gone all in on Italy - I would have done the same - not that I yet understand the lay bet proper - yet to learn that trick. Seems a little risky to me !! Not that going all in on Italy with just over half of the runners declared - is not. Note : my all in is not a lot. Corby - of those not yet declared - thinking Russia & Australia in the main - I can't find any details on those yet - you ? saw your post on Russia guy. Tommy - yes I suppose its a quirky one - and I'm not knocking your taste here - but I think she can't sing. previous quirky ones I thought stood a great chance were 2015 Elina Born & Stig Rästa - Goodbye to Yesterday (Estonia) - loved that one. same year - Maraaya - Here for You (Slovenia) - that still sounds good to me. Jey, Spanish; I try to say hello to newbies, (only to never hear from most of them again!), so it`s good to see you come back, getting involved, especially as you clearly have some knowledge of ESC. Couple of points, if I may?
Not sure what you think is the `trick` to laying? It can be dangerous, but if you lay many of them, you`re reducing the potential damage, whilst increasing potential gains. Laying Belgium at 5.0 means I`ve backed the rest of the field at 1.25, but I`ve got 40-odd runners running for me, so I`d argue it`s actually safer! Did you get fancy prices on Italy? Your stake size is irrelevant, all that matters is `do you talk sense?` Been lurking? If so, you might have read a couple of recent discussions about the relative merits of the various social media. Many of the regs on here swear by them, others think they`re all a load of boll0x, wrong more often than right, preferring a more `instinctive` approach. I`m in the latter camp, so can`t offer anything meaningful on your facebook stats and thoughts, but I`m sure one of the followers of such measures will be along soon to comment. |

According to a post on Facebook there will be a press conference in Moscow tomorrow (Saturday) releasing a statement with regards to their participation in the contest. It is still unknown at this time if Russia will participate or withdraw and not take part in this years contest. Hope we find out for definite tomorrow what is going to happen. |
