Back to BGT, I'm slightly concerned not to have seen an act that even resembles a winner. Normally (at the end of the 1st show) you have an act that makes you think is a runner, followed by a few more in the 4-6th shows. This time everything is the epitome of mediocrity, and when there is something vaguely original, it's given 30 seconds of airtime over some chunt with a microphone and a sob story.

The totally mediocre JackPack (Robson & Jerome + 2) a bunch of liars according the unrtv:

It’s been claimed today that when we saw Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls The Jack Pack auditioning for the show on Saturday night, and heard them claim they’d never performed in public before, they were not being entirely truthful…

And that’s because a tabloid newspaper claims that all four of the group’s singers are “covering up” their professional showbiz backgrounds.

According to The Sun’s TV Biz, Jack Pack singer Adam was formerly in boy band Futureproof, who got to the live finals of The X Factor in 2007, however, he told the BGT judges and audience that he is a “bartender.”

The article goes on to say that when Adam turned up for Jack Pack’s audition at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, he was overwhelmed by the size of the audience.

He said, “We’ve not performed in public before. We’ve done the odd bit of singing in front of our parents, but this is it…

“It’s a big deal.”

His band mate Alfie is apparently a professional Michael Bublé impersonator – and has sung with Michael – though he told the judges he is a painter and decorator. In addition, the paper claims that Jack Pack singer Sean, who stated that he is a gardener, is a model and an actor who’s appeared in the music video for Jamelia’s hit track, No More.

And when asked about the group’s showbiz background, singer Andrew said, “We’ve all done little bits, but nothing on the level we performed at on BGT.

“I’ve done small local charity events and sing with a community band.”

Last night, Adam told the paper, “I’ve never hidden the fact I was in a group called Futureproof seven years ago…

“We were lucky enough to support the likes of Westlife and Tom Jones.”

He concluded, “I’m now in a new group called Jack Pack, and when we auditioned for BGT as a group, we had never performed to an audience that size.”

Talking about a French light/lazer artist on tmix, a Frenchman called Theo Dari - I may not have seen all of every show so far, but reads like he hasn't been shown yet?

Odd to be mentioning it now.  They already have that act with the lights so there really does seem to be plenty of cases of two similar acts this year.

havent seen anything further to dissuade me that Collabro arent a great bet at 5/1. I'm very confident that after their semi final they will be much lower.

I've come around to your original thoughts re Collabro bex.Was a little concerned to see the swing group appear on last weekends show, however the press stories about their previous exploits seem damaging to the extent that they may not even reach the final.

after not thinking much of Paddys or Darcys chances, they are my 1st backs based on youtube views, and no decent talent in the other shows and Collabro and jack pack spliting the vote is another factor

That said Cider, I thought it was interesting the way pretty much all of them were turned off by the sob story and tears after the performance - saying it was unnecessary, she sounded like she was fed that line, i like watching the show for the talent not the talent + issues.

from tmix - suppose these brats are SCowell's golden buzzer peeps (look much younger than their ages in the photo to me)

A teenage duo called Bars and Melody wow the judges in tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent 2014 auditions.

The pair, also known as BAM, are made up of school boys Charlie 15 from Cardiff and Leondre 13 is from Wales.

The teenage singers perform their own version of Hopeful by Twista and Faith Evans with original lyrics about their past experiences of bullying, which leaves the audience fully supporting the young lads.

And the judges can only be nice too, with Amanda Holden remarking: “I’m just so happy for you. (To Charlie) Your voice is beautiful. We were all in tears. So well done.

“It seems like we hardly need to critique you it went so well,” David Walliams added. “For two young kids like you to come out and sing about something that really affects you and do it in a style that’s completely yours is a really rare thing. ”

Alesha Dixon tells them: “The minute you started that verse it brought a tear to my eye. It was really, really moving.”

Leondre replies: “If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be rapping so thank you so much.”

Meanwhile, Simon thanks the pair for making him glad he sat through a load of other poor auditions.

“I’ve heard some monstrous songs today and I was literally losing the will to live,” he explained. “You know what, I listened to every word. Did this stuff happen in your life? I think that record could be a hit. I really, really like you two.”

rundown of tonight's acts from tmix"

Tonight’s show sees a little bit of everything, arguably in some cases just a bit too much so.

First off we meet singer Simon Cowell who it appears has made it this far on the basis of his name alone as there’s really no way his voice has helped him.

Simon (the judge) tells him bluntly: “Simon, you’ve no idea how much I wanted this to be great, so I could say at the end of the show ‘the winner of Britain’s Got Talent is Simon Cowell’.

“I mean I live for that moment. Simon, I never thought I’d say this but Simon Cowell it’s a no.”

But can the other three judges save Simon from a sad trip home?

Next up is Emotions, possibly one of the weirdest acts ever on the show, which is made up of Harry and Keshia, his real life doll. It’s sure to give some of you lot nightmares.

And proving that just because you’re an Opera singer doesn’t mean you can get away with performing any old tosh are trio Operaetcetera, who also creep out the panel with their bizarre audition.

The fun (of sorts) continues with tai chi instructor Tai Bill who, well, does some tai chi.

Fortunately things get a bit better with dance group (don’t groan just yet) The Addict Initiative, who tell a real story through their quite brilliant routine.

They aren’t the only dancers in this evening’s BGT auditions with the ever so fetch Rafi Raja causing a stir on the panel before he even begins performing.

At least Rafi has some sort of moves, as opposed to the Oldham Sapphires who do… God only knows what on the stage next.

Although even they managed to put on what looked like a choreographed routine, with poor Matthew Huggins’ hip shaking being branded “3AM kebab shop drunk dancing” by Simon Cowell. Ouch.

To show us Brits how its done we need a trio of Frenchmen, apparently, so step up Arnaud, Mehdi and Yanis who pull some Beyonce style moves to a medley of Spice Girls tracks.

If dancers really aren’t your thing then don’t think you shouldn’t bother watching as this evening’s episode sees perhaps the show’s best ever impressionist in the form of Jon Clegg. The 43-year-old gives a laugh out loud routine covering a slew of celebs including Alan Carr, Marge Simpson, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell himself. A very brave man!

As always, the end of the show is dedicated to the singers who have put themselves forward and tonight’s lot are a varied bunch indeed, all choosing to perform original material.

Janice Pearson performs a self-penned track about Christmas time that leaves everyone feeling depressed before Bernadette Lewin showcases her track written about the Queen.

Closing the show are Bars & Melody, also known as BAM but better known as Charlie and Leondre, two teenagers from Wales. They sing their own version of Hopeful by Twista and Faith Evans, rapping about their past experiences of bullying.

The impressionist from Brighton sounds like the only one worth watching.

To be a half decent impressionist you've got to be current, and be able to do most people. He's got a few he can do ok and strung them together with no storyline whatsoever.

from tmix:

Britain’s Got Talent 2014 contestant Adam Diplock has been quizzed by the police over an alleged assault.

The singer, a member of swing vocal group Jack Pack, voluntarily attended an interview with cops after it was claimed he had assaulted a female friend.

The 29-year-old however was not arrested but refused to comment on the allegations of grievous bodily harm (GBH).

The Daily Mirror newspaper reports that Adam is keen to try and focus on the show rather than the incident, which is said to have happened before his appearance on the show last weekend.

“As far as Adam’s concerned he has done nothing wrong. His focus is going all the way on BGT,” a source told the newspaper.

A spokesperson for Britain’s Got Talent commented: “Adam has not been arrested. He was interviewed over an allegation after voluntarily meeting police.”

Adam and his Jack Pack bandmates wowed the judges to win a spot in the next round just over a week ago.

Their swing over of Frank Sinatra That’s Life saw a standing ovation from the audience and four yeses from the panel.

Pretty weak act and likely doomed to defeat, but it appears they will get every advantage available, and likely to go very short in the market.
