I hope she loses the dancer in Copenhagen and wears something similar rather than the strange ballerina skirt

Ok after ages away I'm back and specifically to ask five leaves left why Armenia looks so short.

2.5-2.7 should I be thinking about backing or laying?

No idea Grin
It ticks all the boxes in a poor year. Good looking guy with a very decent voice. Impactful contemporary song. A country with lots of allies and a big diaspora vote.
A worthy fav that could walk it. The price looks about right

Lithuania did not perform in London last night, chaps, unless I disappeared into a parallel universe when they were on. Missed the end of the concert but that was only Malta and Romania.

Cheers jr. What was Emma Kennedy listening to then? Were either of the cake songs or the French there?
By:

When: 14 Apr 14 15:59
Yeah, Latvia Cake To Bake were first on. Sadly, no Twin Twin.

Just read your review jr. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was unimpressed with Ruth.
Switzerland could be an interesting in the top 10 market.
It has a simple charm, similar to the likes of Malta last year

Ruth's ballad is interminably bland, fig. Her Nessun Dorma rendition required a puke bucket.

Not up to speed at all, any of the regulares like to summarise the last 700+ posts for me lol?

What do you like leaves?

I quite like the GB entry but only for a top 10 finish

Where's George, please don't tell me he is shooting models in the Bahamas again
By:

When: 14 Apr 14 17:24
No problems Shirley.
Last I heard from George, he's busy setting up a gallery. I'm sure he'd rather being shooting semi clad models in some exotic location. Whitby maybe rather than the Bahamas.

lol bex. Not an easy task summarising the whole thread. There isn't a huge amount of consensus. As I said in reply to Shirley, I think Armenia is a worthy fav.
I can't have Sweden at all. It's Eurovision 15 years ago
I much prefer Denmark at the price.
Norway a good song in the studio but the guy really doesn't sell it live and he's far from telegenic.
I'm not a fan of the UK and I'm hoping to lay it rather than back it for top 10
Azer the best of the female ballads but worries that they could be marked down due to the fixing allegations last year
Belgium is my biggest green of the front 10 or so in the market. Plenty find it rather creepy but it works for me. Cowell would love him.
Ukraine quite a catchy little song and they could benefit from some 'solidarity' votes due to the Russian situation
Of the others, I love LithuaniaGrin but qualification is probably the best I can hope for.
Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Austria & Hungary are others that I quite like.
Italy probably the best of them in betting terms

Unfortunately the market is pretty clued up when it comes to the UK. Vying for 3rd favourite to win, but 8th fav in the top 10 market

Just listening to Norway again. If this was purely a song contest then it would deserve to p1ss up

thanks leaves. I will watch the semi finals and decide then. Last year the day of the final had the best value odds on the majority of the field so I wont be in a hurry to make any early picks.

Last year I found the Euro tracker quite useful - showing outsiders like Belgium and Hungary were performing better than the odds suggested iirc so i will be watching that closely in ht elast week
By:
five leaves left
When: 14 Apr 14 17:51
True about the eurotracker. None of them really doing anything outside of their own countries this year. Germany really the only one.

Belgium was unlucky with the draw last year. It was a big winner for me in the top 10 market and I'm sure it would have been a winning bet with a later draw.
It was fishing in the same pond as Hungary and Malta and unfortunately was on before both of them Sad

true re Belgium. I made a decent profit last year but would have been much better if it made top 10. In saying that I think Hungary took over the 10th spot near the end and that was a decent winner for me.

Just sent a friend a link of the top 10 in the betting and listened to a few clips. Azerb is a nice ballad and quite classy

I had Kuchar and Day for top 10 as sole bets beforehand and then backed Bubba to win after his bad round (round 3) so fairly good.

I'm back to doing the horses mainly - flat only - as the liquidity is there and you still get instances of some crazy prices on the lesser known stables. I have a particulary strong AP book on the 2 guineas so hoping that works out as planned, certainly Kingmans run helped a great deal
