I've already layed rory at 1.5

And backed him a touch to win

In the crazy world of the spoty market I guess Hammy could drift that far

Ive come out of semi retirement to back Rory for spoty at odds against after 3rd rnd of open. A big Lol at the petulant F1 chump with the fastest car being more popular

Having said that Ive laid all the 1.28 and 1.3 and probably some 1.2 soon ;)

Rory has the Ryder Cup to come as well next month - could still shorten further if he has a starring role in that.

Overall in recent years the petrolhead vote has been much stronger than the golf vote so agree Hamilton a good call at the current prices

Zara Phillips won it, which says a lot about those who vote in this. Jo Pavey, looks good value now.

If she wins the 5000m too, she'll look better still.

Is she in the 5000?

Wouldn't back her a current prices, but certainly keep an eye on her

Real contender if that had been on BBC1. As it is, it still will have had a higher audience than the PGA

Yep, she's in the 5000 too. No idea if she's a good thing, but the European Championships tends to be soft when it comes to the distance races.
Unless the scandis have imported a couple of Africans to run for them

How good she is is fairly irrelevant tbh. All about the story that will be filling women's mags for months to come

True. No one will care who she beats. I was just wondering if she's a good thing for the 5000m. Not even a market on here. I guess because of doubts over who will line-up. I can't see any prices on the HS either

Same as the C games, just no markets

I wanted to lay Jonno Tommo for the heptathlon as a hedge Sad

The markets would be like the wild west really, competitors added as the field was announced lol

You're the one who started talking about beams

It's the type of sport that women like. Something a little dancey. Torvill & Dean without the ice. And Dean

5000m field average. I reckon she can win. If she doesn't she still won the 10000m.....

40 year old mum of 2, versus, 25 year old multi millionaire who binned of his girlfriend after the wedding invites went out....hmmm.

I wonder where the casual vote might go??
By:

When: 14 Aug 14 15:28
Fair point Kev, but you need that critical mass of coverage

I'd say not enough mems will have heard about Jo yet, but it could happen.  The glossy mags but be falling over themselves to get her in

Also agree about the dubious voting appeal of Rory

Hammy will beat him if he wins the title imo . While he's hardly Mr Personality either, I think he's won more friends this season

I agree GB. Plus Hamilton & McIlroy may not even bother turning up.....

I think Jo Pavey will get in the top 10 to phone vote anyway, and then she could build up some momentum in the last week or so.

It's a vote on the night only as you know, so I'm sure her "story" will pan out well, specially if she doubles up later this week.

In the meantime fingers crossed Rory dumps another girlfriend via twitter or similar!

Still a truckload left on the HS

topped up a small bit more on Murray 100.0-120.0. Think he would easily be single figs if he wins US Open which he's a shade above 5/1 for
By:
GeorgeBrush
When: 15 Aug 14 09:43
Got a 5 figure Muzza green. I don't think he can win, hence I have a sizeable US open red
By:

When: 15 Aug 14 09:45
Not sure why he's so short!

Re Murray. Not sure anyone ever won 2 on the spin?

No cyclists this year, no footballers, no cricketers. When you think about it, they may have trouble rounding up 10 for the list!

Time for a woman to win I think, after so many men winners, so Jo may well get some special coverage on the run up & on the night itself.

That's the problem with womens sport, they don't get equal coverage.......apart from Athletics of course:-)

..and gymnastics
By:
GeorgeBrush
When: 15 Aug 14 13:10
I've given a gymnast a good coverage before

At least that's what she said she was in the advert
By:

When: 15 Aug 14 13:17
Hmmm!

I suppose so re the cover, but you only see the gymnasts at the big games.....plus not many are 40 with 2 kids.

I remain hopeful....and it gives me an interest all the way to Xmas.
By:

When: 15 Aug 14 13:40
If Claudia had 2 kids then her chances would be significantly reduced
