The way I see the rules if whoever is appointed national coach then the interim/caretaker/temporary tag right now associated with King is washed away immediately.

The manager officially appointed is the winner regardless of who picks the team for the friendly. 99% sure betfair would see it that way but ask them.

If a manager is announced but doesn't take charge until after the Latvia & Poland games then King is still the interim manager

Surely it would depend how they the FAI worded it. If they say MON is going to be our next manager but won't take charge until after Poland, then King is still the interim manager

I disagree. If I may put my legal hat on, the market rules say:

Who will be appointed as the next national coach of the Republic of Ireland National Team?

The words after that deal with interims and caretakers. The key rule must apply first, the rest is secondary to the main rule.
